The first set started as a back-and-forth affair with CB South serving tough against the Knights' receive. South took a first-half lead at 7-11 over North Penn, and the Knights battled back to even the match at 13-13. The Titans pulled away to 13-15 over North Penn. With a side out, Sophomore outside hitter, Holland Van Ooyen stepped to the serving line at 14-15 and never looked back. With three aces, Holland held serve to 24-16 after missing the potential winner. She also led the Knights with five kills, followed by senior outside hitter Madlen Potrusilova and Junior Middle Hitter Maya Mukulski, both with three kill in set one. North Penn topped CB South 25-16.
North Penn started set two with a strong 5-0 lead on the serving of senior captain setter, Belle Mukulksi. CB South clawed its way back to tie the set at eleven. South briefly pulled away at 13-15, but the Knights tied the match at 15. After trading a few side outs, North Penn took a commanding lead at 21-19 and again at 23-20. South kept fighting, but North Penn took a 24-22 lead with the serve. The Titans tied the match at twenty-four and, with momentum on their side, won 24-26. Senior captain, Madlen Potrusilova leads the Knights with seven kills, while juniors Maya Mukulski and Sofie Potrusilova each contributed three kills.
Set three was another quick start for the Knights, building an early 4-1 lead. CB South closed the early lead at five. Both teams traded points until South built a 15-18 lead. The Knights stormed back, and the score was tied at twenty-two. North Penn pulled away, taking the match 24-22 with the serve. After a missed serve, South scored two quick points, bringing the set to twenty-four. The tight game battled to a twenty-five tie, and North Penn finished the set at 27-25.
The final set of the match was another early battle with the Knights taking a quick lead 4-1. Both teams traded points until sophomore outside hitter, Holland Van Ooyen stepped to the serving line at 11-12. The Knights extend their lead to 18-12, taking control of the set. Junior captain Maya Mukulski had the highlight of the set with a hammer hit on an opportunistic second ball. CB South closed the lead to four at 20-16, but the Knights closed the door on CB South 25-19. Senior captain setter Belle Mukulski led the set with four kills.
The Knights gritted out a tough match against the Titans 3-1. The Titans challenged the Knights' serve receive throughout the entire game, but the offense proved too much for CB South. The Knights, with their 7-0 undefeated streak, are getting their opponents' best efforts. They take on Souderton at home on Thursday - also North Penn's Community Night!
