Last night (4/6) Upper Dublin played Pennridge in boys volleyball. We lost the match in 3 sets (5-25, 18-25, and 14-25) and are continuing to look towards our first win of the season. Pennridge played great and kept us off balance for most of the match. We were unable to pass serve effectively which led to giving up too many free ball opportunities to them. I believe that we are continuing to improve as a team and even in losing we were able to continue to do things better than in past games. For instance, we only had 3 missed serves all match whereas in the previous matches we were in double digits, and defensively we were in better position to play balls and popped a lot of balls up but we just couldn’t transition those touches into points. I was proud of the way our team continued to work hard even after the lopsided first game and I believe that we are on the verge of turning this season around and starting to win some games.

Serving – Junior Jino Park led the team with 3 aces and 4 points off serve overall

Setting – Senior Dave An led the team with 9 assists and Junior Brian Shim also stepped in and played well with 5 assists

Hitting – Senior Outside hitter Jordan Walden continued his consistent play and recorded 6 kills overall

Blocking – Senior Middle blocker Curtis Carter recorded 4 blocks for the match

Passing – Junior Jino Park played a great match and in addition to his serving led the team in digs with 7 for the match.
