The girls did a great job today of staying the course against a very good pitcher in Kyla Garrison. Kyla looked very good, and it took us a bit to make adjustments. Emma Lewis got things going for us with a big hit off the top of the fence to score our first run. She has been putting in a lot of extra work after practice with her hitting, and it has paid off for her this year. Emma does a great job of getting her barrel in the hitting zone early, which is why she has been so successful. She definitely has a swing that will translate at the college level.

Katie Straub was the third pitcher to win a game for us this week. I continue to be in complete amazement with her performance. Katie allowed 3 straight singles to start the game, which loaded the bases. She got out of the jam and went the rest of the game without giving up a hit. Katie doesn't get rattled easily and always finds a way to get the job done. The girl is a gamer!
