Felicia Connelly threw an outstanding game, striking out 14 of our hitters. She threw over 130 pitches and was just as strong at the end of the game as she was in the beginning. Whenever you play North Penn, you cannot make mistakes, and we simply made too many of them today to be competitive with them. But we definitely saw some good things today as well. Kendall Kornuszko threw pretty well today after throwing a complete game against Spring-Ford yesterday. It is not easy starting games on back-to-back days against teams like Spring-Ford and North Penn. I am proud of the way she kept battling today and she is really showing that she is ready to take on the role of being a consistent starting pitcher for us. We had a few really good hits today and put some runners on base, but we just couldn't put a big inning together against their pitcher. Sam Hooven had a great triple to deep left field driving in Marley Swain, who singled earlier in the inning. Sam and Marley both had two hits on the day and they are both off to a good start offensively this year. We expect both of them to have very productive seasons. Our starting second baseman today Addie McMackin contributed the other hit for us on an infield single where she was able to use her speed to beat out a ground ball in the infield. Our goal is to bounce back next week and hopefully put these losses against two very good teams behind us."
