Neshaminy brought their A game today and played very nice defense behind Bilbrey in the circle to hold our offense at bay. They got out of a couple jams with good defense, and Bilbrey did a nice job keeping us from squaring up the ball.

Neshaminy Redskins won their fifth game of the season, beating Council Rock North 4-1 on Thursday. Council Rock took the lead in the top of the second inning, but Neshaminy answered back right away. In the bottom of the second, sophomore Morgan Leonhauser led off with a double to right field. After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Leonhauser then scored on a sac fly to right field from senior Rachel Allen. Junior Morgan Volgraf, who walked the at bat before Allen, then scored on a double to right field from junior Alleigh Waskie, giving the Skins their lead. Both teams were scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning when senior Lindsey Gorka hit a hard line drive over the left field fence, giving the Skins a 3-1 lead. Volgraf led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a double to right and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Allen then laid down a beautiful bunt, scoring Volgraf. Offensively, the skins were led by Volgraf with two hits and junior Grace Eppinger, Gorka, Leonhauser, and Waskie each with one. Allen tallied two RBIs, with Gorka and Waskie contributing the other two. Defensively, senior RyLeigh Bilbrey led the skins on the mound, facing 25 batters, striking out two and only allowing one run. Volgraf also had an impressive outing, throwing two runners out at the plate from center field. The Skins head to Bensalem on Monday.
