We scored 2 runs right out of the gate. One of the runs came on a ball Skyler Byrnes pierced through the strong winds for a home run. However, CB East didn't relent and battled until the very end. The score doesn't show it, but we had a lot of quality at-bats, and that is all I can ask for when you have strong winds blowing in. Fortunately for us, we had outstanding performances from all four of our pitchers. They combined for a complete game shutout, striking out 10, and allowing only 1 baserunner. Ava Detwiler, Kathryn Jones, Madi Mott, and Katie Straub are extremely talented pitchers, and they have all found success pitching this year using their unique qualities and strengths.

Highlights:

Kiera Fadden was our leadoff hitter last year and really our spark plug. This year, she has given us a new spark in the third spot. She had another big day with 3 hits and 2 runs.
