WISSAHICKON 1, QUAKERTOWN 2
WISS failed to set the tempo early, allowing Quakertown’s #4 opportunity to go up first. But in the second half WISS settled in and gave newcomers to the American Conference a run for their money. Rachel Colemen was fierce in the midfield, never giving an inch. Emily Vervlied, Senior Captain, came up big playing left back with a tally of 3 nice shots on target. Jasmine Bishop answered as well stepping up and holding down left wing. And Maddie Elwell, also a Senior Captain, despite being man-marked, managed a text book upper 90 GOAL from well outside the 18 to breath new life into her Trojans with a little over 10 to go. Alas this was not enough to equalize QHS #15 winning goal coming in at minute 45:10. A disappointing lose but a lesson learned, tempo. We look forward to our next match.
