The Wissahickon varsity girls soccer team won an exciting, come from behind victory today (Monday) against Quakertown. The Trojans trailed 1-0 at half time and came out on fire in the second half. Senior captain Kelly Peirce dominated midfield play and goal keeper Rachel Stone, and Ava Esposito played outstanding defense to shut down the opposition and change the flow of the game. The offensive spark came from freshman Zoe Gomez who found the back of the net twice on assists from Pierce and Junior Cailin Grey. Gomez’s game winner came with under two minutes to play in the game. Other Wissahickon standouts in the game were Ellen Claire Benbow and Maureen Beichert.

Wissahickon’s JV team lost 4-0 despite good games by Audrey Mack, Jackie Kling, and Rebecca Shorin.
