Lower Moreland Comments
After not playing up to our potential on Tuesday, our girls put together a really strong performance tonight against New Hope. I loved the way the girls moved the ball, spreading out the field in really creative ways. This provided some really great scoring opportunities.

Sophomore Emma Leibert had a night. She scored 4 out of our 5 goals, overpowering the defenders when trying to contain her attack. The amazing thing about Emma's performance tonight is that she was equally unselfish and creative in her passing as she was in her shooting. Consistently she was finding teammates and providing opportunities for others.

Additionally, Senior Haylee Huber scored a great goal late in the second half. Quinn Rozanski slid a ball through the box and Haylee simply willed her way past a defender, putting so much pressure on the keeper that it led to a really strong finish in the back of the net.

Senior defender Violet Levin had a really strong game as well. She played really solid defense, and was very creative in the counter attack.

And Senior Giuls Fogarty played a strong game, particularly while playing center back for us. She was really smart in stepping to the ball and spreading out the attack with really good play out of the back.

Lastly, Senior Lucy Mavroudis played her first Varsity game tonight. It has been fun to watch Lucy improve throughout the season and find significant way to contribute to the team.

We struggled with the simple things tonight and couldn’t find a rhythm. We were down a few of our starters and had a few injuries throughout the game that negatively impacted our play. The girls put in the effort, Liz Brennan and Hailey Castellano both had standout games and the girls kept fighting but it wasn’t enough tonight.
