JN Comments: Despite the weather, it was a really special night to be a part of. This annual Kick 4 Pink game means a lot to both programs and brings two cross-town rivals together for Breast Cancer Awareness and raising funds for the Kin Wellness Center. It's a great reminder that yes we're here to win, but there's more to our sport, our programs, and beyond and really proud I get to play a very small role in it all.

The game: I thought we did a lot of really good things tonight. Despite going into the wind in the first half, I thought we were pretty intentional in our build out , made the necessary adjustments to deal with the weather, and ended up putting together one of our most productive first halves all year - credit to anyone that played in the back or in goal tonight and staying composed on the ball. I turned to our staff and said half jokingly said no way that could be me. The combination of Taylor Roumy and Mia Forney got us started early tonight, with a great run down the flank from Mia and a good finish from T. Not long after, after a good ball in from Mattie Williams, Taylor crossed the ball from left to right deep over to Ella Roumy who after a bit of footwork, found a great pass into the feet of Mia which she buried off her second touch. To close out the half, Mattie Williams converted on a PK after putting together such a massive first half for us. Mattie has stepped up massively for us in the center of the park and having Kiera back taking over for an injured Ava Mignon, I thought we had a very good night with those two leading along with good showings from Ella Roumy and Mackenzie Peters and then some key minutes from Rylie Leedy and Delaney Ralph down the stretch.

Second Half, despite going with the wind, I thought we lacked a bit of an edge to really break this game open. Some of our own doing, but credit goes to West for digging in and not backing down from this game. In the first, they created enough to bag a goal or two, but Aralynn gave us one really good save to keep the 0. Second half, just a bit tighter in the midfield kind of slowed us a bit, but this group has got good patience with the game and we finally broke through after a quick ball to feet from Liz Mooney. Quinn Reilley just kind of turned with it and created enough separation from their center back and tucked a really good finish into the far right corner on the 1v1 against their keeper.

All in all, true team effort from our crew tonight and very proud with how we played, our leadership throughout, and maintaining the clean sheet despite the conditions.
