9/24/10 – UM @ Upper Dublin

Despite giving up a two goal lead, Upper Moreland survived double overtime as they defeated Upper Dublin 3-2 Friday afternoon. The Bears jumped out to an early two goal lead with goals by Tommy Hays and Menvekeh Daramay. Tommy Hays received a long pass from Kyle Lunch, broke through the defense, and tallied the first goal on a breakaway. A few minutes later, Hays went for his second score but his head ball attempt caromed off the crossbar and Daramay then followed suit with a head ball of his own which found the goal. Upper Dublin fought their way back and tied the game midway through the second half at two goals apiece and it stayed that way until double overtime. Both teams shared time with the momentum Upper Moreland finally put the game away. Late into the second overtime, Tim DeCarolis put an indirect free kick right to the foot of Carl Wambold who put the ball passed the Upper Dublin keeper and into the back of the net. Tim Uvegas and Kyle Walder once again played excellent in goal, and Kyle Lynch and John Baez lead the defense to improve the Bears’ record to 4-1.
