Cheltenham coach Emily Towey: “Although we didn't get the win today, we absolutely have closed the gap from where we used to be with Upper Moreland. They are a team that is coached really well and today we knew what to expect and what we needed to do. We had a couple sloppy mistakes that cost us big, especially against their zone ride, but I am so proud of the team and how they played today. Our defensive unit of Penny Morrison, Vlada Larina, Giana Meija, London Montague, and Lila Payne all showed up huge for us. Our middies, Mia Haugen, Brianna Gardner, and Morgan Gregorio looked great on the circle and all over the field. So many players stepped up as leaders and made the right decisions. Progress doesn't always show up on the scoreboard, but we are moving in the right direction."

Every year Cheltenham gets stronger and stronger as a team, and this year was no different. This game felt much closer than what the score shows. Cheltenham did a great job winning draw controls early on in the game, and the first quarter was really back and forth on the field. We were able to get a lead in the second quarter and hold onto that lead the rest of the game. Bridget Hess did a great job on defense with some interceptions and playing great controlled defense. Today we had some great connections on transition and right to goal, I was happy to see those connections working today.
