Council Rock North Celebrates Senior Night with Gritty 8–7 Win Over Gwynedd Mercy

NEWTOWN — Under the lights on a special Senior Night, the Council Rock North girls lacrosse team delivered a performance to remember, edging a tough Gwynedd Mercy squad 8–7 in a game that came down to the final whistle.

Honoring seniors Catherine McBride, Olivia Esposito, Gabby Mann, and Addison Deppi the Indians combined emotion and execution to secure a hard-fought victory against one of their strongest opponents of the season.

McBride led the charge with a strong all-around performance, scoring six goals while controlling the tempo throughout the game. She added five draw controls, four ground balls, and caused a turnover, consistently creating opportunities and keeping possession in North’s favor.

Esposito also rose to the moment on her Senior Night, contributing two goals and controlling five draws, helping the Indians maintain crucial momentum, especially in the second half.

Mann made her presence felt with a key forced turnover, while Deppi’s leadership and steady play helped anchor the team during critical stretches.

Defensively, Council Rock North showed resilience and determination. Goalie Mia Luna turned in a standout performance in the cage, making several key saves to preserve the narrow lead. The entire defensive unit played with intensity, coming up with timely stops, ground balls, and hustle plays that proved to be the difference in a one-goal game.
