The Council Rock South Golden Hawks closed out the regular season with a hard-fought 6-5 victory over the Central Bucks South Titans.

Council Rock South grabbed momentum before halftime when FOGO Jake Baniewicz scooped up a faceoff and outran the defense and scored on the run to give the Golden Hawks a 4-1 lead heading into the break.

The Titans battled back in the second half, but Brendan Malone’s third-quarter goal pushed CR South back in front 5-4. Central Bucks South answered again, tying the game at 5-5 late in regulation.

With the clock winding down, Conor McCaffery delivered the decisive moment, finding the back of the net with 2:36 remaining for what proved to be the game-winning goal — his third of the night. After a Titans possession, Hayden Cattie and Cole Telegadis helped the Golden Hawks maintain possession and run out the final 1:24.

McCaffery also made program history, finishing the regular season as Council Rock South’s all-time leading scorer with 164 goals and 68 assists.

The Golden Hawks finish the regular season 12-5 and entered the game ranked No. 12 in the PIAA District 1 standings. They will await the playoff seeding for their next opponent.
