Summary - Neither team had many scoring chances and a lot of the game was played in the midfield. Paige Totten scored early in the first half on a nice pass from Sophie Kolkka to give PW the early lead. That goal stood until 12 minutes left in the 2nd half when Springfield's Meredith Guardano scored on a corner. Sophie Kolkka, who played a strong game from the midfield, created a scoring opportunity and scored unassisted for the winning goal. Springfield played strong defense and limited PW's scoring opportunities. They also are a good grass team. We need to play with a little more energy and we need to play smarter field hockey. Kolby Bechtel and Sami Mangine both had good games defensively.
