A well played, hard fought contest against a strong opponent. Pennridge is a fast and talented team. We prepared well and stayed with the game plan. I am proud of how well we stepped up to the challenge and continued to execute quality passes even though we were under intense pressure. We are still adjusting several defensive positions around some injured players and are working on best combinations. Defensively our goalies, Morgan Craighead, Senior, in goal the first half and Amanda Tuley, Sophomore, played second half, have big shoes to fill since our starting goalie, Rylee Lawler, tore her ACL last spring. I am impressed with how well both Amanda and Morgan are stepping up to the plate early in the season. Defensively, Mackenzie Hadfield made a positive impact in moving the ball from our defensive end to the attack by utilizing our outside mids, Kayla Hlywiak and Mel Olivieri. Olivia Jackson was the calming force in our deep defense and helped guide freshman Halle Frederick on positioning. Offensively, we were able to generate some nice movement stating with Anna Thompson who threaded nice passes to our forwards: Laure MacIntyre, Julia Ely and Mackenzie Adamson. We are not pleased with the score but we are pleased with the tenacity and heart all the girls showed on the field today.
