Upper Moreland played well defensively, but were not able to make an offensive push. New Hope is so tough because of their speed and higher level stick skills. Bear’s goalie Tierney Hogan was phenomenal in goal in her first game under pressure. Hogan had 32 saves and several successful clears stepping up to intercept the ball. The game was scoreless after the first quarter and no goals allowed in the 4th quarter.
Bridget Hess, Reese Purcell, Addi Gans and Ella Gould were awesome as a team in the circle. This group played well on multiple short handed corner plays and only allowed 2 goals on corners. As New Hope continued pressure, we tried stronger players at different positions to play more defensively. Melissa Torpey and MJ Reilly played well in different positions and Olivia Torres played her heart out unselfishly all game at multiple positions.
