It was a hard fought and physical game for sure, but I’m proud of us for fighting until the bitter end. We had a ton of corners and I told them to just keep knocking, and eventually one of those corners found the back of the cage. It’s hard to have back-to-back one goal games- I know they’re really tired, but we gave it our all. Emerson McFeely had a fantastic game (on her birthday) along with Syd Lafferty and Nell Zietsman in the midfield. Our defense of Katie Szczypiorski, Kate McCauley, and Morgan Harrington did a great job stopping the breakaways and limiting shot opportunities. Sophia Gerken is always super scrappy in the circle, and that paid off tonight.
