CB West had their home opener vs North Penn today at 3:30. The temperture to start the game was nearly 140 degrees. The two teams agreed to take a 1 min break 15 minutes into each half. In the first half North Penn scored first not quite 2 minutes in (28:05) CB West came roaring right back and Cadera Smith scored her first of four goals with 26:36 left. West scored two more in the half. Cadera Smith had an unassited from the top of the circle with 19:45 left and less than 2 minutes later at 18:31 Dani Dundas scored off a corner from a Bryn Boylan shot. The second half started strong for the Bucks as Taylor Mason scored 25 seconds in. North Penn came back and put a lot of pressure on scoring with 24:55 left. With the score 4-2 Smith took a reverse shot from the top to make it 5-2 at 15:22. North Penn scored their final goal with 13:45 left. Smith made it a no doubt about it win when she scored from the top of the circle with 7:07 left.


Smith scored 4 goals on the day. Goalie Laura Kubit had 18 saves in goal for West. Other standout players included Casey Reichwein who saved at least two goals, one with a defensive save on the line. West play a big league game next week vs CB East.
