It was a strong end-to-end showing from our student-athletes in our season home opener - under the lights (Friday Night Lights - field hockey style)! This evening, team played field hockey at a high-level demonstrating combination and crisp passing, good off-ball movement along with being well conditioned to support the attack moving upfield or to recover on the defensive end of the pitch.
We have a strong and balanced attack this year will not need to rely on any one player for scoring. In addition to the goals this evening: Avery Anderson (3), Lily Cosner (1), Aida Ierubino (3), Nina Mayro (2), and Kendall Siegle (1); the efforts to transition the ball from our defensive unit, through our midfielders, up to our forwards was very good.
Beginning the season strong was one of several milestones that we look forward to completing this season. All around - it was a very good team effort.
