The Bensalem Owls lost to Council Rock South today 2-0. Another outstanding effort from Goalie Hailey Fricke and her defense in front of her. Defenders Abby Cheung, Makayla Duncan, Lucciana Krecko, Reagan Colgan, and Lexi Hartman all played well today. The midfield was exceptional today with special days from Keana Rodriguez, Tierney Sayers,Paige Dando, and Anjali Guda. Kylie Blank continues to make plays at forward, forcing corners, and putting constant pressure on the opponents defense. Chloe Masciantonio and Mollie Reilly had good games as well putting presure on the CRS defense. I think the star that shined brightest today though was Veronica Lennon who continues to play the big minutes, is always where she is supposed to be, and moves the ball flawlessly up the field from her defensive midfield postion. She scored what we believed to be the tying goal late in the second half on a beautiful reverse shot that was deemed to be dangerous. She gave us chance after chance during the final minutes when we were trying to tie that game up.
CRS scored in the first four minutes of today's contest with 11:45 remaining in the first quarter. After that the two teams remained scoreless until only 8 seconds remained in the game. It was a bad way to start but we really came together to hold down the CRS offense throughout the rest of the game. We're playing better everyday, and we're really starting to believe that we can compete in this division. We are certainly heading in the right direction and we'll work at it again tomorrow in practice.
