Bensalem Comments
The Bensalem Owls flew away with a victory today aganist Archbishop Wood. The Owls got one the board in the first quarter when there was a scramble out in front of the Wood goaltender and Mollie Reilly was able to get it across the line. The assist came from sophomore Leah Vorgity. It was Reilly's first goal of the season to go along with one assist. For Vorgity , it was her first assist to add to her one goal. That lone goal stood until 2:18 left in the third quarter when Junior Paige Dando took a pass from Abby Cheung high at the top of the circle, evaded 2 or 3 sticks and drilled one high into the right side of the cage. The defense continued to shine in the back with Cheung, Veronica Lennon, Lexi Hartman, Reagan Colgan, Hailey Nuzzi, and Mia Kelly all putting in time. Other defenders who helped out at midfield today were Addie Walsh and Emma Welsford. Their versatility showed today. Goaltender Hailey Fricke wasn't tested much today but was still able to collect her second consecutive shutout. Her Goals Against Average through three games is .333. In the midfield, Paige Dando, the Sayers sisters, Tierney and Reese, and Anjali Guda did the heavy lifting today, supported by freshman sensation Paige Pressler. The forward lines are playing well, creating more corners than last year but have missed some opportunities so far. But they are a touch away. The aforementioned Reilly and Vorgity are joined by Junior Kylie Blank, senior Ava Grayo, Lily Lendzinski and the other varsity freshman Mackenzy Leasher.
