William Tennent Comments
The Panthers got off to a slow start, while the Bucks came out firing and took the lead 19-4 after the first quarter. In the second quarter Tennent started to find their rhythm offensively, but CB West's hot shooting continued and took a 30-12 advantage into halftime. "I thought our defense wasn't that bad the first half, West just didn't miss many shots from the 3, said Coach Whitney" "The adjustments we needed to make at halftime were closing out to the shooters better, being more patient and playing smarter offensively." It seemed to pay off since the Panthers were able to hold the Bucks scoreless in the third and cut the deficit to 30-18. Tennent continued to make a push early in the fourth and cut West's lead to 9, but that was as close as they would get. Tennent was lead by Kyla Gibson who scored 11. "I was really proud of how we played as a team tonight, we never gave up, said Coach Whitney." "We have talked a lot the last two days about playing more together and with more emotion." "I thought that we really played inspired tonight, and proved that we are going to fight every game."
