Tuesday night's game between Lower Moreland and New Hope Solebury was a war of attrition. Fortunately for the New Hope Solebury Lions, they had junior Reagan Chrencik on their side.

Chrencik scored a game-high 21 points, including 14 in the second half, to pace the Lions past a very game Lower Moreland squad.

"Reagan was a consummate leader out there tonight," assistant coach John Turner said, who was filling in for head coach Steve Polinsky who was attending his daughter's senior night at Council Rock North. "The first half was really a grind for us offensively, but Reagan really put us on her back in the second half. Her leadership abilities are really something special."

New Hope was caught off guard early by Lower Moreland's 1-3-1 trapping zone, scoring only three points in the first frame and trailing 6-3. The offense picked up for the Lions in the second behind seven points from Chrencik and three by freshman Emily Wilson to turn a three point deficit into a four-point lead at half.

Chrencik's second half, combined with two big three-pointers from senior captain Madi Fasti, helped New Hope establish a double-digit advantage and keep Lower Moreland at arms length the rest of the night.

"Coach Becker did and awesome job throwing us off balance with the zone early," Turner said. "It was the type of game where we really needed to dig in and rely on our defense and that's what we did. While they might not have scored a lot this evening, Emily Wilson, Izzy Elizondo and Emma Ives really brought their A-game on the defensive side of the ball and that's a huge part of why we were able to win tonight. "

The Lions won't have much time to savor this victory as they host Quakertown on Wednesday for senior night.
