The Hatters lost their first game of the year, 2-0, to the visiting Quakertown Panthers despite a strong start by senior pitcher Colin Kennedy. Kennedy pitched a complete game, allowing just 2 hits and 2 unearned runs while striking out 10 and walking 1 and hitting 1 batter.

Unfortunately for the Hatters, they committed 4 errors, 2 of which allowed the Panthers to score two runs in the 4th inning.

The Hatters couldn’t find an answer for Panthers senior ace pitcher Matt Bukavich. Bukavich retired the first two hitters in every inning on his way to striking out 11 and walking 1 and hitting 1 batter in the complete game 2-hitter.

Viktor Morelock accounted for both Quakertown hits, including an RBI single.

For the Hatters, Kennedy was 1-3 with a single and sophomore DH Drew Margerum was 1-3 with a double.

The Hatters (2-1 Overall, 2-1 SOL American) will be back in league action on Tuesday when they host Upper Moreland at 3:45.
