The Hatboro-Horsham Hatters lost a 3-2 pitcher’s duel at HH on Tuesday afternoon in a SOL Continental match-up against the CB South Titans.

HH junior RHP Colin Kennedy pitched 6 strong innings, giving up only two runs on a 2-run homerun off the bat of the Titans shortstop Kyle Rossi, while striking out 4 and walking none. He was matched by Titans senior, Dan McCartin who tossed 6 1/3 innings, allowing 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2.

The Hatters scored 1 in the 2nd inning when an Eric Jester 2-out double scored Brian Edgington, who had singled and advanced to second when the left fielder tried to throw behind him at first base. Rossi then gave the Titans the lead in the top of the 3rd with his two-run blast. The Hatters tied it up in the bottom of the 4th when a Jarrett Prendergast double scored Ryan O’Donnell who had singled.

The Titans took the lead on a two out error in the top of the 7th inning. The Hatters threatened in the bottom of the 7th when Drew Passerini had a 1 out pinch hit single, followed by a Billy Carr single. However, the Titans brought in Alex Benziowicz who earned the save when catcher Eric Gross picked a pinch runner off of second base and Benziowicz got a fly out to end the game.

The Hatters (3-3 Overall, 1-1 SOL Continental) are set to host CB East on Thursday.
