The Hatboro-Horsham Hatters went to Central Bucks South and knocked off the Titans 3-1 behind the strong pitching of senior Eric Lane. Lane pitched a complete game 4-hitter allowing 1 earned run while striking out 6 and walking none.
Titans starting pitcher David Drea nearly matched Lane tossing a complete game allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5.
The Hatters scored all three runs in the 4th inning. With one out, Kevin Barron reached on an infield single. Lane then reached on a hit-by-pitch. After a wild pitch moved the runners up to 2nd & 3rd, Simmons hit a grounder to short on which Barron came home to score on an errant throw and runners were then on the corners. A balk was then called that allowed the runner from 3rd to score and Simmons to move up to 2nd. After a groundout moved Simmons up to 3rd, he scored on a single by Alec Blyler to give the Hatters a 3-0 lead.
The Titans answered back with a run in the bottom of the 4th when Alex Happ scored on a Tommy Dugan RBI double to right field.
The Hatters (9-5 Overall) are now in a 3-way tie for first place in the SOL Continental division with North Penn and CB East at 7-2. The Hatters host the Patriots on Thursday in a clash of two teams at the top of the division. The game will be the Hatters final home game of the 2015 regular season. It will be Senior Day for the Hatters and the game will be televised on a later date on HHTV.
