NESHAMINY GIRLS’ BASKETBALL PREVIEW
Head coach: John Gallagher starting fifth year
Assistant coaches: Megan Gallagher, Nick Reisig and John McFadden
Last year’s record: 8-2 second place Patriot, 17 – 7 overall
Notable losses: Alena Cofield, Rider University, Auslyn Wilkins, injury
Key returner: Mia Raivitch Jr/F, Ashlyn Duffy Jr /SG, Grace Weyler Jr/G, Camryn Rodriguez Sr/F, Hayley Kolk Jr/F
Others to watch: Ella Hoyas Soph F, Brynn Klukososki FR SG, Nicole Trespalacios FR G
Strengths: A returning core entering their third year of Varsity minutes with defined roles.
Question marks: A seven games in 10-day stretch during December could set the tone for the season. A few injuries and sick days have cost us some continuity and momentum.
Outlook: “The program is making strides, incorporating a few younger players into a varsity tested lineup. Mia Raivitch is a key part of that lineup on both ends of the floor. Her value increases from game to game with her excellent ability to read defenses. Little aspects of basketball can make the difference, and Mia epitomizes that mentality.
“We look forward to contesting with our Patriot Division opponents and seeking a spot in the SOL playoffs. Our goal is always to make districts and attempt to gain a state playoff spot.”
