Cheltenham Comments
We lost a heartbreaker to Upper Moreland 2-1. Both teams came out strong and battled through the heat. Mimi Williamson scored midway through the first half, but Upper Moreland came right back to score one of their own. It was a back and forth game and they scored in the final 2 minutes. Upper Moreland is well coached and they play a great team game.

We saw a lot of good things come out of today's game as well as some things that we as a team and as individuals need to work on. Cheltenham was able to get on the scoreboard first, which put us into more of an attack mode. Kyra Favors has been working hard for us on the front line, and today was no different. Abby Engart was able to win a 50/50 ball and slot a pass through to Favors. Kyra showed some really great composure in front of the net and put away our equalizer.
In the second half, we maintained control of the ball and possession on the field. We pushed up our offense and changed our pace of the game. In doing so we were able to finish in the 79th minute on a corner rebound. Reva Naik was able to rebound the ball off of Kyra Favors shot.
Cheltenham is a gritty team, and they work hard---if you give them opportunities, they will take advantage of them.
It was nice to see some things that we have worked on at practice, show on the field today. On our defensive end there was strong play by Annalise Messina and Molly Meakim on our back line. With the conditions being hot and humid we relied on every girl on our team to contribute to today's match.
