The Spartans scored four runs in the top of the first and built a 10-2 lead after 5 in defeating the Cardinals 10-7. Dave Langlois's 3 run triple in the 5th capped the scoring for Springfield. Mark Trainor pitched 6 2/3 innings for the victory. Upper Dublin scored 5 in the 7th to cut the lead to three before Kyle Goscminski came on to retire the final batter on a fly ball to right.
