An evenly matched game was played between Upper Moreland and New hope today. The teams matched up well, and played a gritty, competitive 100 minutes to a scoreless tie. Leading the Bears with offensive opportunities was Forward Sydney Bachmayer. Bachmayer hit the cross bar twice in the first half and continued to be a menace throughout the match. Midfielders Sarah Veneziale and Maggie Finn played strong finding the open girls and distributing the ball and creating scoring opportunities. Defensively Samantha Cancel centered the back line and Maddy Gerlach and Carly Wasson forced the new hope attack to the outside. In net, Kim Benge had twelve saves.

Great match to open the season with. The Bears are looking forward to SOL play next week.
