The Trojans came out strong and played a remarkable first half, against PWHS. Emily Vervlied contributed 4 goals, 3 assists, Sam Intrieri added 2 goals, 1 assist, and Shannon Stagliano, Mary Matthews and Carolyn Wilde finished with 1 goal each. Top ground ball earnings go to Vervlied with 9, along with 8 draw wins. Claire Tarzia had 5 ground balls, Matthews followed with 4 ground balls, Intrieri with 2 ground balls and 1 draw win, Megan DeGroat had 2 ground balls, and Marie Dickson, Caty Santucci, Kelly Dickson and Stagliano each had 1 ground ball, Wilde had 1 draw win. Caused turnovers were awarded to Vervlied, DeGroat, Santucci, Tarzia, and M. Dickson.

PW. Scored the first goal then Wissahickon came on strong to score the next 4 goals. Taking a 4-1 lead. Play went back and forth with transition turnovers and a couple of traded goals. Halftime score 7-6 Wiss.
The second half PW played strong defense and capitalized on draw controls to slowly take the lead. PW took the lead with17 minutes remaining. Then scored the next 4 goals. They held on to win 12-9.
I credit our defense. In the 2nd half for clamping down on defense. Their hustling, sliding and crashing the 8 created offensive opportunities along with a good game from our goalie.
