Today at Earl bowl Pennridge visited North Penn with both teams in contention for the top spots in the Suburban One Continental division.Both teams are considered a neighborly rival with many of the kids knowing each other and bowling each other in their respective Saturday morning league.The North Penn boys had a 16-0 league record leading Pennridge by only one game with a 15-1 record. And the North Penn girls had a record of 11-5 just ahead of Pennridge with a 9-7 record.
The Pennridge boys came out fireing with a 1074 team game vs North Penn's 1002 thus wiping out the undeafeted start.North Penn knew it was going to be a highly emotional match from the start. After the first game North Penn had bowled a very good game themselves and huddled up after the game and said lets just try and win the second game and cut down the big margin of the lead and see what happens keeping focused the rest of the night. The second game was a much closer game with North Penn 993 and Pennridge 954 cutting the total pins to 33 pins. The Knights of (NP) with a final team pep talk went into the third game knowing if they stayed within themselves and made most of their marks that they could challenge the Rams for the last game and total pins. Pennridge struggled the third game with some untimely splits (856) and North Penn pulled away with a 1012 game winning 3 out of 4 points increasing their team league to 3 games. Stand out stars for North Penn were Steven Gerhart with games of 268-210-224= 702 series along with Tyler Sharpe right behind him with 212-220-246=678 series.Coming through with a nice third game was Jimmy Ullman with a 216. High for the Rams with a nice consistant night trying to hold onto his league leading average was Jake Gordon with 233-212-226=671 series.Joe Firuta had a nice night as well with 215-246-164 - 625 series.Ben Anderson chipped on with a 220 game and Mike Pine had a 212 game.

On the girls match North Penn knew that had their hands full facing three established bowlers from Pennridge in High average Jenn Stevens and teamates Emily Kircher and Kara Wireman. Jenn did not disappoint with a consistant night of 205-207-184=597 narrowing out North Penn's Rebecca Murray 152-173-244=567 series for high of the night. The Maidens did win all 4 points though with great teamwork from Kelci Beatty (393) Lauren Marrone season high (489) Kistina Turner (474) Gabby Verrillo (445) and Rebecca Murray (567).
Pennridge had good series from Emily Kircher ( 453 and Kara Wireman ( 426)
North Penn improved to 15-5 and pennridge is now 9-11.
Pennridge faces Norristown and North Penn goes to Upper Dublin on Wednesday.
