Springfield HS didn't put up much of a fight on Thursday, as Norristown cruised to a blowout 8-2 win in seven innings at Norristown HS.
Norristown jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Eagles caught fire after Jimmy Perna tripled. Then Brandon Iorio doubled, scoring Perna. Springfield scored 2 runs in the top of the third, but the Eagles tied it up in the bottom of the third and never let go of the lead.
Norristown finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fourth inning taking the lead on an RBI single by David Randolph plating Kevin Belskie. Norristown scored three more runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Iorio and on a passed ball.
JT Vaughn recorded the win for Norristown. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
The Eagles Varsity were sparked by Perna and Iorio, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
