--The game: “Today we stepped up - we were able to make a few corrections from our past games and control the majority of the game. We were able to connect on passes and close the gaps between the lines. We still need to capitalize on scoring opportunities, but we had more pressure today in the circle. “
--Props: “Mia Brooks was able to get a quick shot off at the top for the goal— Eve Garrison did a nice job applying pressure in the circle the second half, and Keira Secoda and Lily Basalik both stepped up today on the right side of the field. We will continue to work hard, build and work together.”

--The game: “We gave it our all today. We had a couple of opportunities but weren’t able to finish on them.”
--Props: “I’m very proud of our defense today. Emily Hamnett and Reese Berkis were extremely gritty in the circle. Other shoutouts to Kylee Ward, Macie Schmidt, and Sarah Lubaczewski for hustle.”

Seventy minutes could not determine in Wednesday’s SOL contest that belonged to the respective defenses.
Bensalem coach Gary Kubik: “Both goalies and defenses were outstanding. Council Rock North held the lead in corners in regulation 8-5, but Bensalem dominated the overtime period with five corners but were unable to capitalize on any of them. They were not without their chances.
“Several Owls had opportunities throughout the game and in overtime, but they just couldn't convert. North's goalkeeper, Kasey Papp, turned 16 shots aside. Bensalem's goalie, Hailey Fricke, made several key saves, 9 in total.”
Props: “The Outstanding Owl Awards went to Paige Dando, who dominated in the middle all game and overtime, coming off the field only for a minute in overtime. The other Outstanding Owl was Hailey Fricke who came up big on numerous occasions today, as she almost always does. It was Fricke's first shutout of the year.”

PENNSBURY 9, HARRY S TRUMAN 0
The Falcons walked away with their first shutout today on the road against the Truman Tigers winning 9-0. Senior captain Abby Iacona reached a significant milestone during the game - her two goals and two assists sealed the deal on her racking up 100 POINTS since her freshman year as a starting varsity attacker.
“This milestone is very special. It is the first time since I took over PHS field hockey that one of our players has achieved something like this,” said head Coach Traci Curtis. “This accomplishment is a reflection of Abby’s hard work, dedication, talent, and contribution she makes to, not only our team, but the sport of field hockey in the SOL
“Iacona has helped to raise the bar and push our program forward for four years. She will leave her mark for sure and we hope that those who come through will pick up where she leaves off.”
The PHS coach also credited the play of Truman’s keeper.
“I want to congratulate the Truman goalie for an awesome game. She played with heart and was a fierce competitor. She made a ton of awesome saves and truly protected the cage with strength,” Curtis said.

Jenna Butler connected on the game-winning stroke in the opening minutes of overtime, propelling the Titans to the win in Wednesday’s overtime thriller.
The Titans led most of the game, thanks to a goal by Emily Aldrich at the buzzer ending the opening quarter. Butler had the assist.
The never-say-die Patriots rallied to knot the score on a goal by Lily Okolrichany with 3:39 remaining in regulation, setting the stage for overtime.

--The game: “Under the lights for the first time this season brought some nerves and emotions for our team tonight. We had a long weekend with a break from field hockey, and it showed during the regulation game, just missing a couple passes and some speed changes, however when it came to extra time the team knew they needed to find our way of playing again.
“Early in the game, Emily Aldrich was able to redirect Jenna Butler’s shot from a corner to find the back of the cage with seconds to spare in the first quarter. East battled hard through the next couple quarters and had us in a more physical game than what we wanted to be in, but we adjusted and began to move with them.”
--OT: “Heading into overtime with (East’s) late goal, our team was fired up in the break and talked about what our team needed to accomplish in the next few minutes. We quickly turned it on and made the most out of the three minutes of overtime, gaining quick consecutive corners leading to a game-winning stroke by Butler. The team wanted that overtime light show, and they brought it to Titan Stadium tonight.”
Central Bucks South coach Emma Rosenthal:
--The game: “I’m just really proud of us for continuing to fight tonight. South capitalized early, and then our defense was really amazing, and we were able to hold them off the rest of regulation. Lily Okolichany scored with 3:49 remaining in regulation from a rebound. Brynn Bonargo, and Emerson McFeely did some great work on the forward line tonight, creating opportunities for that equalizer to happen. We’ll learn from this game and move forward.”

Autumn Wagner scored a pair of goals and assisted on another, leading the Indians to the shutout win in a battle of the neighboring rivals.
Wagner scored a goal that stood as the game-winner with just under six minutes remaining, using an assist from Lexi McKenna. Wagner assisted on Ava Siegfried’s second-quarter goal to send the Indians into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Wagner put the finishing touches on a big day with a breakaway goal in the opening minute of the third quarter for the 3-0 final.

“Today was a big improvement from our first game. Each day we are getting better, and all the knocking on the door for goals will start to translate. Souderton is a quick side with talent across the board. Just as any conference game, we are excited to get back to work together so that when we see them again at home in October, the result will flip in our favor”

If it’s offense you like, Wednesday’s game was for you.
After the two teams battled to a 1-1 tie after one quarter, the visiting Bucks – sparked by a pair of goals by Zola Morelli – reeled off three straight goals to go on top 4-1. Maddie Koch scored her first of two goals to make it a 4-2 game at halftime.
The Bucks all but sealed the Knights’ fate with a pair of third quarter goals – one each from Heidi Schoenleber and Bri Rossi.
Also scoring goals for the Bucks were Claire Demmer and Lucy Smith. Demmer added a pair of assists.
Cara Albano led off the scoring for the Knights, who received a pair of goals from Koch.

Central Bucks West Lori Ierubino: “A solid team win against a speedy, relentless North Penn. Our lineup is still not set, and we are evolving into the best version of ourselves. With that comes some growing pains, but it’s early in the season and we got the win. I am super happy with the number of different people scoring. Likewise, I appreciate my team’s flexibility to try new positions and move around throughout the game.
--Props: Freshmen Brynn Schoenleber and sophomores Quinn Carroll and Tori Taurino had really nice games stopping a lot of momentum early on the sides. Lucy Smith had laser precision passing throughout the game.”

--Props: “North Penn played a hard-fought game against a strong CB West squad. Senior forward Cara Albano and sophomore midfielders Cissy Lewis and Avery Hanrahan played strong for the Knights, and junior forward Maddie Koch had a nice stick in the circle tonight with two goals.”

The Hatters opened up a 3-1 lead in the second quarter, and although the Ghosts trimmed that lead to one by halftime,they would get no closer as that was the extent of the offense for both teams.
Aliana D’Angelo and Mackenzie Harmon both contributed a goal and an assist. Briana Soto also scored a goal for the Hatters.

--The game: “The Hatters picked up an incredible win over Abington today! The girls came out strong, scoring three goals in the first and second quarters and setting the tone early. The second half was all about heart, communication, and defense.
“The girls are coming together, communicating, and playing as a true unit. We couldn’t be more proud of them for capitalizing on the plays they created and continuing to battle together.

The Panthers had a score to settle.
Armed with memories of last year’s 2-1 overtime loss to the Colonials and an eventual second place finish to PW in the division race, the Panthers came out of the gate on fire. A pair of goals by Sunny Draper in the opening quarter set the tone for a big night for the Panthers.
By halftime, they led 3-0 after Taylor Wehr added a goal in the second quarter. They upped their lead to 4-0 after an Ella Metz goal in the third quarter.
PW battled, cutting Quakertown’s lead in half with a pair of Gracie Kerns’ goals in a two-minute span in the fourth quarter. The Panthers got one of those back when Penny Longacre found the cage with a Draper assist.
“It was an exceptional night of high-level field hockey between two deeply talented, resilient teams, resulting in a memorable victory that highlighted the group's growth and composure,” Quakertown coach Peach Draper said. “We are also so thankful for our fans, teachers, administration and superintendent that came out to support us. We are one team and one very proud community.”
In addition to Draper’s three-goal, one-assist performance, Penny Longacre had a hand in three goals, scoring once and assisting on a pair. Paige Longacre also had an assist.

--The game: “Under the summer sky in Quakertown, the team set the tone early in a high-stakes rematch of last year's overtime loss and league championship loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh. Driven to make a statement from the opening whistle, the offense caught fire right out of the gate. Sunny Draper sparked the attack with two impressive direct shots, while Taylor Wehr, Ella Metz, and Penny Longacre each 
added a goal to establish a commanding lead. The ball movement was sharp all evening, with Draper, Penny Longacre, and Paige Longacre distributing the ball effectively to rack up assists and stretch the Plymouth Whitemarsh defense.
“By halftime, the team held a firm 3-0 lead and pushed the advantage to 4-0 heading into the fourth quarter. That relentless offensive surge was matched by steady control, where Cadence Jozefowski and Cassidy Landis anchored the midfield, neutralizing transition play and consistently creating strong distribution options along the sidelines. Behind them, a disciplined defensive unit starring Cameron Landis at center along with Blair Mora, Emily Reese, and Mya Pallone (even as a forward) took on the challenge of containing Plymouth Whitemarsh’s remarkably fast forward line. Backstopping the effort, Darci Baxter was out of this world in goal, coming up with huge saves time and time again to turn away PW's dangerous shots and keep control of the game.
“To their credit, Plymouth Whitemarsh never stopped competing, fighting back to score two well-earned goals in the final quarter. However, the early lead and complete team effort proved to be the difference.”

--The game: "Despite numerous scoring opportunities and consistent pressure on the Quakertown defense, PW couldn't overcome the goal differential. (We) continued to attack throughout the game but struggled to finish in front of the net. Gracie Kerns would score two unassisted goals in the fourth quarter to change the momentum before Quakertown scored their final goal with 1:37 remaining.”

The Trojans opened up a 2-0 halftime lead only to see the visiting Cardinals come to life offensively in the third quarter. A pair of Remy Wilmore goals made it a one-goal game, but that’s as close as they would get.
Carly Lehman’s two-goal effort led the Trojans – her first assisted by Layla Keller and her second with an Addy Arnott assist. Manika Ishi put the Trojans on the scoreboard with a first-quarter goal.

--The game: “We started off strong in the first half, connecting well, playing good defense, and transitioning through the midfield to attack. The girls did a nice job using aerials and taking quick free hits, which are things we have been working on.
“Upper Dublin made it a game and came back in the second half. Moving forward, we need to focus on playing a full 60 minutes and fighting for one another. We struggled at times to stop plays in the midfield and were planting on defense. Upper Dublin's corner defense was also strong and stopped many of our shots from getting off with a quick fly.”
--Props: “I would like to recognize Addy Arnott, who had an assist today. She is a solid defender and midfielder who we have been able to utilize a lot this year. She never gives up and had another solid and consistent game today.
“I would also like to shout out Emmie Keller and Layla Keller, who had one assist today. They showed a lot of hustle and grit, stopping plays in the midfield and working hard to get back and set up defensively. We are lucky to have them working together in the midfield, and they have great vision on the field.
“Lastly, I would like to recognize Manika Ishi, who scored our first goal today. She has been working really hard this season, and it has been showing in games. You can see how much she wants to be out there and make an impact.
“I would also like to recognize Carly Lehman, who scored twice again in today's game. She continues to be a threat in the circle and knows how to find the back of the net. We are lucky to have her leading our forward line.”

--The game: “Today was a great game for us as a team and was a total culmination of how hard the girls have pushed through some tough season openers.

The Lions earned their first shutout of the season with a win over the visiting Lady Panthers, but their day didn’t end when the final whistle sounded.
The players headed to Pine Road Elementary to volunteer at the annual Family Fitness Festival.
“It was a wonderful reminder that being part of a team extends far beyond the field,” LM coach Deb Lawlor said. “Service, community, and fun—a great combination for a great day.”

--The game: “Today, the team put all of its hard work into game play, moving the ball effortlessly and moving off the ball with purpose. Emmie Martin (10) continues to show tremendous growth and confidence in her game play, making an impact on the field.
--Giving back: “Following the win, the players quickly shifted from game mode to volunteer mode, heading directly to Pine Road Elementary to participate in the annual Family Fitness Festival. Their commitment to giving back to the community was evident as they spent the afternoon serving others, having fun, and promoting fitness.”

Upper Moreland adjusted to the grass quickly. Olivia Torres had three assists on the day. Olivia loves to score, but really her gift is setting her teammates up for goals. She has great timing and vision to be able to see when to make the pass into the circle to create scoring opportunities for her teammates.
The coaches commented that all the seniors played very well today.
–Props: Senior Kaelyn Ashley used her stickwork well on the wing getting the ball by the Cheltenham defenders. Sekia Bell was effective in the circle getting multiple touches and great passes to teammates. Soph Riehle put in two more goals and an assist today. Soph is more confident and effective in the circle her senior year and really feels comfortable in her center forward position. Gianna Jones made the switch to midfield this year and has worked hard to learn the role and has become a contributor with her strong stickwork. Charlotte Russo has come into her own her senior year, growing into a versatile defender and was able to use her strong pushes to get the ball out of the grass up to the midfielders.
Tenth grader Molly Gould scored her first varsity goal today. Molly is our spark off the bench! When we put her in the game, everyone seems to feed off her positive energy! Defensively Brigget Hess was strong along with Hannah Gardner helping goalie Izzy Fisher to preserve the shutout. Fisher had two saves in the shutout. Even though Kourtney Malone is not in the scoring stats, she was one of the strongest players on the field today and just keeps getting better and better every game. Strong Junior returner MJ Reilly uses her field knowledge and presence to guide and support Kourtney on the sideline.

--The game: "PW and the Mount played a tightly contested first quarter, but some injuries put PW at a disadvantage throughout the game. Mount was able to convert on a great shot and tip at the two-minute mark of the second quarter to enter halftime with a 1-0 lead.

PW continued to fight and found numerous attacking opportunities throughout the game but could only convert on one penalty corner.
