PENNSBURY FIELD HOCKEY PREVIEW

Pennsbury High School head coach, Traci Curtis, and coaching staff have been building and growing their program from the inside out since 2019. Founded on a philosophy of encouraging female athletes to become the best version of themselves from the inside out while simultaneously growing in the sport, PHS field hockey is set to continue traveling on a very strong path of success. The Falcons put an exclamation point on the 2025 season, earning their second consecutive playoff berth, landing at a higher ranking than the previous year. The PHSFH family is riding that wave of intensity right into 2026 with a clear set of goals to guide their way.
The Falcons 2026 theme is RELENTLESS - Won’t Back Down, chosen carefully as they move full speed ahead with a shared vision of excellence, execution, and energy. The coaching staff is embracing the theme as they return with renewed expectation and focus, ready to take everything to the next level. Lori Riley is the assistant varsity coach, while Lauren Gerth heads the JV team. Andy Vradenburgh will use his goal keeping knowledge and commitment to the program to train the goalies and Beth Golder has joined the staff to assist across the board.
Pennsbury enters this season with a very familiar streamlined roster ready to get the job done. Returning varsity seniors will fill almost every position on the field for the Falcons with a very talented supporting cast to complete the puzzle. Senior captains Abby Iacona (American University), Ryan Burdette (Rider University), Cailyn Reilly (Babson College), and Joley Hohman will lead with heart and help to bring the RELENTLESS mentality to life both on and off the field. Returning senior goalie, Amelia Fernandes, will make her debut in the starting position to protect the cage.
It is a fool’s game to make predictions about the season and schedule with the constant ebb and flow of programs in the highly competitive SOL. As proud Falcons, our focus is to stay true to who we are and remember our purpose and vision. We packed our schedule with games that will challenge us to the highest degree in order to compete, gain respect, and prove to ourselves what we are capable of achieving. Each season is a fresh start and a chance to once again create something awesome together.
