On Monday, May 18, 2026, Central Bucks South senior Blake Bernstein was recognized for committing to continue his lacrosse career at Widener University.

Reasons for choosing Widener: “The coach is a great guy. He got me interested academic-wise – he said he’s going to be on top of us and me as a student, which is really important to me. Plus, the guys on the lacrosse team are great, and I’m excited to get to know them better.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “To be honest, I was always a three-sport athlete, but as I got older, I grew more love for lacrosse
because I kept grinding. I got closer with my friends, and I’m grateful for everything I achieved.”
Central Bucks South coach John Kurek: “Blake Bernstein is a great athlete, and he’s a great person. I watched him grow since his sophomore year here, and what stood out about Blake as a player was his leadership. The kids really bought into what he was doing. Even if he might not have it one day, his enthusiasm was always contagious to the other kids. He’s a talented kid, and he worked hard to get here. He wasn’t always this good at the faceoff, but he became really good by working at it. He had an unbelievable year as a senior captain – he was first team all-league. I can’t say enough about him.
