Council Rock North 12, Council Rock South 0 (6 innings)
The Indians rode the standout performance of Preston Martin on the mound and at the plate to a no-doubt-about-it win over their archrivals. The Rock North senior allowed
just one hit in 5 1/3 shutout innings. Jimmy Halikman recorded the final two outs after Martin reached his allowed pitch count.
If Martin’s performance on the mound wasn’t enough, he also had four hits.
The Indians scored one run in the first (unearned) and added four more unearned runs in the second on their way to the decisive win.
Also for the Indians, Kyle Book had four hits, combining with Martin for eight of the Indians’ 12 hits.
While Rock South was firmly on the bubble heading into Wednesday’s games, the Golden Hawks – if the latest District 1 6A rankings are correct – would be in the 24-team field. The seedings will be finalized Thursday evening.

Key inning: Top of the first – The Indians capitalized on a pair of Rock South errors to score the game’s first run.
Council Rock North coach Matt Schram:
“It was Preston Martin’s day. On the mound, he was very good! He ran into some
command issues in the third but dominated his way out of trouble and gave up one hit to a very solid South team. Then at the plate, having four hits of his own just solidified why today was his day. As a senior, who’s been on varsity for all four years, it was great to see him end the regular season against our archrivals and compete with confidence! These games against Council Rock South are always emotional and gripping, and he handled the pressure tremendously. Kyle Book, another senior, had a fantastic day at the plate with four hits.
Good pitching, timely hitting, and solo defense was the recipe in our winning streak, and it was the same recipe today in the final game of our series. Jimmy Halikman did a great job closing the game.
“We are excited and look forward to practicing and preparing for the playoffs.”
Up next: Council Rock North is 19th in the latest District 1 6A rankings with the final seeding meeting Thursday night. Council Rock South is 22nd in the latest rankings. Twenty-four teams will advance to the tournament.

Lawrence (NJ) 4, New Hope-Solebury 1
The Lions managed just three hits in Friday’s non-league contest. They plated their lone run in the fourth inning when Blake McCagg, who singled to lead off the frame, scored on a wild pitch.
Up next: New Hope-Solebury is third in the latest District 1 2A rankings, which will be finalized Thursday.

Dock Mennonite Academy 5, Pennridge 0
Dock Mennonite led 5-0 after two innings, and while that would be the extent of the Pioneers’ scoring, the Rams never found their offensive stride, managing just three hits on the night.
Five Pennridge pitchers saw action in Friday’s non-league game.
Up next: Pennridge is fourth in the latest District 1 6A rankings with the district seeding meeting to be held Thursday.
