National Conference
Council Rock North 10, Central Bucks East 5
History was made on Monday.
For the first time in program history, Council Rock North picked up a win over perennial powerhouse Central Bucks East, with the Indians doubling up the Patriots 10-5 in Monday’s National Conference matchup.
The North defense came up huge in this game, keeping the Patriots off the scoreboard in both the second and fourth quarters.
On the offensive end, Chase Klein led North – ranked eighth in the PIAA District 1 2A - with four goals. Jack Fitzpatrick made six saves.
Alex Sipperly made 13 saves and had seven groundballs for East, which saw five players each score one goal.

Pennsbury 11, Souderton 10
Pennsbury withstood a Souderton comeback attempt in the fourth quarter to pull out an 11-10 victory in Monday’s National Conference matchup.
Sparked by Trent Becker’s four goals and one assist, the Falcons – ranked 23rd in the latest District 1 Class 2A standings – built an 11-7 lead after three quarters. The Indians scored the only three goals of the fourth quarter to pull back to within one, but the Falcons held on to secure the victory.
Colin Rakowski made nine saves in the cage for Pennsbury.
For the Indians, Brody Anderson’s five-goal effort – which included the 100th goal of his career – led the way.

Central Bucks West 11, Council Rock South 10 (OT)
Peter Lucanese scored just one goal, but it was the biggest one of the night, coming in overtime and propelling the Bucks to the win in Monday’s overtime thriller.
The game was an emotional roller coaster ride for both squads as the Bucks appeared to be in command, opening up a 5-1 lead after one quarter, but the Golden Hawks outscored the Bucks 4-1 in the second period and trailed by just one at halftime, 6-5.
Rock South evened the score after three quarters, and both scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter, setting the stage for overtime.
Michael Rafalowski’s five-point game led the Bucks. Ben Hutchinson’s 16 saves anchored West’s defense, and also key was the play of Killian Eickman at the X where he won 16 of 25 faceoffs.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 12, Hatboro-Horsham 7
Sean Herron scored four goals and Owen Cababe and Drew Strohl each contributed five points as Plymouth Whitemarsh topped Hatboro-Horsham 12-7 in Monday’s American Conference matchup.
The Colonials –ranked 18th in the latest District 1 class 2A standings – held a 6-5 lead at halftime, but pulled away in the third quarter with four goals.
Fadl Greene was a perfect 10-for-10 on faceoffs for the Colonials.

Upper Dublin 12, Abington 5
Upper Dublin remained perfect in conference play with a win over the Ghosts. Nate Brown, who had a six-point game, was the offensive catalyst while Matt Shohen and Chase Foster both had four points. Michael Pileggi also finished with a hat trick.
Ben Shervin had a big night at the X for Upper Dublin, winning 15 of 20 faceoffs.

Upper Moreland 8, Archbishop Wood 3
Upper Moreland honored its senior class prior to Monday’s nonleague game against Archbishop Wood.
Then the seniors led the way one more time.
Combining for seven of the Golden Bears’ eight goals, the upperclassmen powered Upper Moreland to an 8-3 Senior Night victory.
Kevin Smith scored three goals, while Evan Barrett and Travis Quirk each added two goals and one assist for the Bears, ranked eighth in the latest District 1 rankings.

WISSNATION, PA — Under a postcard-perfect sky, the 12-3 Wissahickon Trojans marched onto the field and proved exactly why they are the team to beat being in the top ten of PIAA District One 3A rankings. Facing off against the 6-9 Pope John Paul II Panthers, the Trojans used a dominant second-half surge to secure a commanding 12-4 victory.
Fast Start, Heavy Pressure
All eyes were glued to the "X" from the opening whistle, featuring a heavyweight face-off battle between Wissahickon junior Nolan Reilly and the Panthers' sophomore standout Griffin Kaczerski. Reilly set the tone immediately, winning three straight draws. Just 16 seconds into the contest, Reilly scooped his own ground ball and bolted straight for the cage, burying the game's opening goal before the Panthers could even settle in.
The Trojan seniors kept the momentum rolling. Less than a minute later, Link Matozzo executed a clinical split-dodge from the right wing, leaving his defender in the rearview for an easy "layup" to put the Trojans up 2-0. Matozzo wasn't done; minutes later, he attacked from "X," drew a double-team, and threaded a needle to a cutting Tyler Moore. It was the start of a career night for Moore, who finished with an explosive four goals and two assists.
Panthers Claw Back
Pope John Paul II wouldn't go quietly in the first half. Brady Keine sparked the Panther offense, finding Charlie Hickey on a crisp cut to put PJP on the board. While Wissahickon’s Davide Peliggi answered back on a doorstep feed from Moore, the Panthers found life again when Keine connected with Jake Vigilante, whose screened shot found the back of the net to keep things tight.
The second quarter turned into a defensive chess match. The lone highlight came from the Panthers’ defense, which sparked a transition break that ended with Trent Schuler cutting to the crease for an easy finish. By the third quarter, when Chris Bray ripped an alley-dodge shot past Trojan netminder Liam Ruhren, the game was deadlocked at 4-4.
The Trojan Takeover
Then, the switch flipped.
Kyle Intal found Moore for a thundering step-down rocket that reclaimed the lead and ignited an 8-0 Wissahickon run. Moore turned distributor shortly after, pulling his defender away to feed Intal for a goal, before stepping up yet again to blast another corner-pocket shot to make it 7-4.
The fourth quarter was a Trojan masterclass. Peliggi capitalized on a rebound with the goalie out of position, and Moore added his final exclamation point with another step-down laser. Intal then took over from behind the goal line, showcasing elite footwork with an inside roll and a hitch to bag two more goals. Matozzo fittingly capped the night, sealing the 12-4 win.
