Pennridge 16, Council Rock North 7
Emma Gall, Megan Moylan, and the Posey sisters – Madigan and Harper - looked unstoppable tonight with an incredible game for the Rams. Gianna Leuthe got her 100th draw control and delivered another standout performance as well.
“A team win with flashy moments is exactly what we needed tonight to secure a great win over a very tough opponent,” Pennridge coach Maddie Dachowski said. “We need to ride this high and take it into our next opponent.
“We take on CB West on Thursday, which is arguably our biggest game of the season. We have a ton of friendships. Players and coaches and both teams are going to battle from the first whistle. I am excited to see my team step up to the challenge and fight to get one step closer to securing our conference title.”
Pennridge is 12th in the latest District 1 3A rankings while Council Rock North is 27th in the latest rankings.

--Taking time to recognize seniors: “Emotions were definitely high before the game as we are saying goodbye to four amazing young women. Madigan Posey, Norah Herbst, Madison Angelo, and Audrey Navitsky have been an incredible light to this team all season long. Between their leadership, support, and dedication to this program, we are so lucky to highlight them and celebrate like we did today. We still have a lot of season left, but getting the chance to pause and enjoy this time is very special. We love you, seniors.”
How it happened: “A hot 6-0 first quarter was an awesome start to the game. A ton of individual effort moments in the first quarter on the offensive end. Madigan Posey, Gianna Leuthe, and Meg Moylan all put up two goals to get the Rams started. Gianna Leuthe was two draws away from securing her career 100th, an achievement she easily accomplished early in the game. She went up to secure five more draw controls with the total of seven tonight. Is very rare to have multiple different people be so talented at the draw on one team. Gianna took over tonight, and she was on fire. Last year, she led the team in draw controls. After missing our first six games, she is making up for lost time quickly these past few games.
“Moylan, Leuthe, and Madigan Posey continued to dominate the offensive end in the second quarter. We were a little slow off the jump and only put up one goal from Madigan Posey until the last minute-and-a-half in the half. We caught the spark and put up three before the quarter closed. Leuthe put up back-to-back goals, one on an 8-meter free possession and the next with a feed from Meg Moylan. Madigan capped the quarter off taking the Rams up 10-4 at half.
“The third quarter stayed constant. Sophomore Emma Gall, who was all over the field in the first half, wanted in on the action and put up a goal off a Paige Cowper assist. Leuthe wrapped up her night on the score sheet with five, putting up her last on a crease roll with three minutes to spare in the third. Emma wasn’t finished and secured a very flashy fast break goal, connecting with Kayla Verespy in a head up give-and-go play. Emma really stood out tonight for us on both ends of the field. She was everywhere on defense causing turnovers (4) and securing must-win ground balls (4). I know that Emma is capable of playing at this level every time she steps on the field. She is one of the fastest players I’ve ever seen - when she is on, she is ON! She was taking risks, pushing temps, everything you want to see from your top players in a big matchup. The Rams were up 13-6 at the end of quarter three.
“We finished the game strong and secured three more before the final whistle. Meg Moylan put up her third, taking advantage of a poor clear from CR North. She buried it with eight minutes to go. Meg kept her head in the next play where she found a cutting Emma Gall, securing her fifth point of the night and Gall secured her hat trick. Moylan has been quieter for us these past few games - I loved seeing her take her looks and score five points tonight. Madigan Posey, in true senior fashion, capped the night off with a game finisher at the horn.”
--Props: “Big shout out to our defense for a phenomenal night. It truly looked like a full team effort out there from the top of the 8-meter to in cage. Norah Herbst, Julia Lenox, Jenna Verespy, Lily Roller, and Harper Posey locked it down. Harper Posey continues to impress all over the stat sheet. Harper has been playing midfield all season but took a step back to the defensive end tonight. She looked like she was home and played very strong. Lily Roller also had a solid night coming up with two must-win ground balls and a caused turnover. Nina Rotella continues to make a name for herself as a Pennridge Ram with eight saves in the night.”

McKenna Lynch and Paige Dougherty combined to score seven of Central Bucks East’s eight first-quarter goals to give the Patriots a cushion, then the Patriot defense held Neshaminy off the board for the final three quarters as East – ranked 25th in the latest District 1 Class 3A standings – rolled to a 17-1 victory in Monday’s National Conference game.
Lynch finished with five goals on the day, while Dougherty had four goals and one assist.

Central Bucks East coach Kelly Tait: “It was a full team effort today with nine different players contributing goals. McKenna Lynch and Paige Dougherty led the attack, netting seven of our eight goals in the first quarter. After that, we were able to move some people around and experiment with different lineups.”
—DeHaven’s first: “Super-proud of senior defender Bella DeHaven, who scored her first varsity goal today. She has been a starting varsity defender for three years and has never tried playing attack. We moved her to attack in the fourth quarter to give her the opportunity to score a goal before graduating. She has a really nice free position shot but is a little hesitant to drive in with the ball. She made a couple of attempts to get in and ultimately ended up getting fouled. As soon as she was given the 8m, I knew she was going to score and she did, netting our final goal of the game.”
—Fab freshmen: “We were able to get freshmen Fiona St. George, Leah Tellner, and Quinn Marsland in today and they rose to the occasion and had great games.”

Ainsley Shissler scored four goals and added two assists, and Zola Morelli scored a pair and assisted on three others as Central Bucks West dominated Pennsbury in a 17-2 victory in Monday’s National Conference game.
Chloe Schrandt scored four for the Bucks, who come into the week ranked eighth in the District 1 Class 3A standings.

Sophomore Reese Visconto scored her first career goal and sophomore Alyssa Terry had a great defensive effort, picking up 3 ground balls.”

North Penn 9, Council Rock South 8
Trailing 6-5 at halftime, North Penn regrouped in the second half and rallied for a 9-8 victory over Council Rock South in Monday’s National Conference game, which also served as the Knights’ annual Lax 4 Leukemia game.
Draw control proved key to the Knights’ victory. Maddie Gorman won eight draws, while Mila Rogozinski earned four draw controls. Quinn Rodoff led the attack with two goals and two assists, while Joelle Davenport scored three goals.
South’s Cameron Brundage led all scorers with five goals and added five draw controls. Gabby Terekhov made eight saves.

North Penn coach Ken Rodoff: “Our team defense really locked in at halftime, when the score was 6-5 Council Rock South. For the next 23 minutes, South was unable to score. Credit to South who continued to up their defensive pressure and redefend, allowing them to win possession and score two goals in the final two minutes.”
—Lax 4 Leukemia: “This was our annual Lax 4 Leukemia game, honoring two former NPHS lacrosse players. We raise money to support the fight against leukemia and lymphoma. Big thanks not only to all our fans, but also to Council Rock South, who came out in full support of our event by supporting our fundraising efforts.”
—Props: “Joelle Davenport had a great game, playing with poise and confidence from start to end. Maddie, Quinn, Brooke, and Mila dominated at the center, controlling 14 draws.”

Souderton 20, Central Bucks South 5
Souderton poured in seven goals in the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 20-5 victory over Central Bucks South in Monday’s National Conference game.
Aly Hassett won a remarkable 12 draw controls, including 100th draw control for her career, and also contributed 12 ground ball pickups, four goals and one assist.
Caroline Kelcy scored six goals and added one assist, Carly Gavetti had five goals and three helpers for Souderton, ranked No. 21 in the District 1 3A standings.
Kelly McDonald led the Titans with two goals, while Bella Ricker had a goal and an assist.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 9, Upper Dublin 6
In a battle between the top two teams in the American Conference standings, Plymouth Whitemarsh built a big lead, then held off a furious Upper Dublin charge in the fourth quarter to remain undefeated in league play and pull out a 9-6 win on Monday.
The Colonials led 7-2 after three quarters, then withstood Upper Dublin’s four-goal fourth quarter, answering with two of their own, to maintain their grip atop the conference standings.
The teams battled fiercely on the draws, but PW’s defense stood strong, holding the high-octane Cardinal attack to just two goals in the first three quarters. Addie Stein made 11 saves to earn the win in the cage for the Colonials.
Maite Jayo led PW with four goals and one assist. Riley Martin netted a pair.
For Upper Dublin, Maeve Hogan reached the 100-goal plateau for her career with the first of her two goals on the day. Abby Rucker scored a pair, while Bridget DiMartile had five draw controls.

Plymouth Whitemarsh coach Ellen Reilly: “A great team effort from the girls today against an always very good Upper Dublin team. We worked very hard and fought all over the field. The draw was a little difficult today, but we really hustled to gain possession.
“We lost focus in the fourth quarter and Upper Dublin capitalized, scoring four goals. We were lucky to have a couple goal lead that helped cushion their attack.”
—On the defensive effort: “Our defense stepped up, with an excellent game by our goalie Addi Stein, she had 11 saves. We had a game plan going in to try and stop their main scorers, Bridget DiMartile and Maeve Hogan. Esther Backentose and Soph Nagle executed the game plan and held them to just three goals. Our other defenders who also played well were Keira Whelan, Kaiane Jayo, Maite Jayo, Gracie Kerns, and Grace Harvey.”
—On the offensive: “Offensively, we were composed and worked the ball around looking for opportunities. Five different players scored. We shared the ball and found the open player.”
Upper Dublin coach Dee Cross: “PW came to play today. They were aggressive and controlled the play all over the field. We dug ourselves into a hole and just couldn't recover. We were able to compete on the draw but just could not consistently place our shots when we would get them.
“A bright spot in the game was senior Maeve Hogan's 100th goal. She scored it on the first of two goals on the day. Also, Ava Shohen got her 100th assist.
Up next: Upper Dublin – ranked 17th in the District 1 3A standings – will visit Manheim Twp for a nonleague game at 4:15 pm Wednesday. The fourth-ranked Colonials will host William Tennent at 3:30 pm Thursday.

Abington 12, Cheltenham 0
Katie Pennekamp scored five goals and added seven groundballs and six draw controls as Abington posted a shutout over Cheltenham 12-0 in Monday’s American Conference matchup.
Carly Hughes added five points, and Cheyenne Fisher stopped the only shot she faced to record the shutout in goal for the Ghosts, who are ranked seventh in the latest District 1 3A standings.

Erin Ely added 3 goals and an assist, while Carly Hughes orchestrated the attack with 4 assists and a goal. Abby Ellner contributed across the field with 2 goals and 2 assists, and Joanna Duff added a goal of her own.”
—Defensive dominance: “Charlotte Lowery and Chelsey Higgins each chipped in assists while anchoring the defense, combining for multiple caused turnovers and ground balls. Defensively, the girls were relentless, with Katie and Chelsey each forcing 4 turnovers, supported by key plays from Keely Gallagher, Cynthia Jaquez-Hardman, Grace Warchol, and others. Cheyenne Fisher added a save in goal to cap off the team effort, as Abington’s depth and discipline proved the difference in a complete victory.”

Wissahickon 17, Lower Moreland 4
Wissahickon celebrated Senior Day with a decisive 17-4 victory over Lower Moreland in Monday’s American Conference matchup.
After honoring the team’s four seniors – Sophia Stehlik, Siena Bruno, Adriana Crawford, and Eleanor Yates – the Trojans scored 10 unanswered first-half goals to roll to victory.
Stehlik led the Trojans with four goals, six ground balls, and four draw controls. Bruno had four ground balls and a caused turnover.
Goalkeeper Ava Fell reached the 300-save milestone in her three-save effort in the cage.
Lower Moreland got one goal each from Julia McNesby, Maddie Broderick, Mary Skaziak, and Haylee Huber.

Siena contributed 4 ground balls, and Ava Fell had an impressive day in goal with a 50% save percentage (3 saves on 6 shots). She also reached a career milestone of 300 saves—an incredible accomplishment and a special moment to celebrate on Senior Day.
“Additional recognition to Kaylee Hammond, who has really stepped up on the attacking end. She recorded a hat trick along with 2 assists, 2 ground balls, and 3 draw controls. As a strong defender known for her aggressive play and great checks, it was exciting to see her make such an impact offensively today.
“Shoutouts as well to Paige Dratch and Tessa Garrick, two attackers who have continued to step up this season. They worked well together, consistently drawing defenders and creating opportunities, each finishing with 2 goals and 1 assist.”

You’d never know the Golden Bears came into Monday’s game cold.
Upper Moreland returned from a nearly two-week layoff and played a solid team game in downing New Hope-Solebury 18-5 in Monday’s American Conference game.
Kiera Hess led the Bears – ranked third in the latest District 1 Class 2A standings – with four goals and an assist. Leah King scored a hat trick and added one assist.

Upper Moreland coach Kim Frantz: “It was great to be back playing a game today after having 12 days with no games. We started off really strong today, which I was a little worried about, but they were ready to go.
“We got contributions from a lot of players on this team, and we are ready to go with the last few games of our season!”
—Triumphant return: “Tierney Hogan scored her first goal of the season coming back for her first game this season from an injury.”
—Props: “Keira Hess had a great 4-goal game. Eva had a great game and was strong all over the field, on the draw and on offense and defense. Leah King played well today also, both leading the team on defense and scoring 3 goals and 1 assist when on attack.”

Springfield Twp 14, Hatboro-Horsham 4
Springfield Twp topped Hatboro-Horsham 14-4 in the Hatters’ Senior Night game.
Prior to Monday’s American Conference contest, the Hatters honored their nine seniors – Mia Fisher (playing lacrosse at Susquehanna University), Amy Quinonez (playing lacrosse at Thomas Jefferson University), Corinne Farina (University of Tampa), Lola Gardiner (Penn State), Taryn O’Donnell (Penn State), Ava Maus (University of Alabama), Keilly Santos (Drexel University), Ally Neumann (Penn State).
“We love our seniors and wish them great luck at college,” said Hatters’ coach Lauren Holliday. “We’re so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see what they do next.
“The seniors showed tremendous leadership, setting the tone with their work ethic, communication, and composure under pressure. They motivated their teammates and led by example, keeping the energy high and the team focused throughout the game.”
Once the game started, the Spartans overcame a slow start to pull away for the victory. Freshman Casen Powell won her 100th draw control of the season. She also led the Spartans with five goals and two assists.
Izzy Bellano led the Hatters with two goals and four draw controls.

Springfield Twp coach Katrina Metz Borzelleca: “It was a great night for Hatboro-Horsham to celebrate their seniors and a fantastic nod to ours as well before the game started. Tonight's matchup had a slow start, but we got into a great rhythm and really started connecting and playing together as a team. We created opportunities on the attacking side and played solid defense to control what was happening in our defensive zone. I’m proud of the girls’ effort, teamwork, and atmosphere tonight – cheering on whoever was out on that field and picking them up.”
—Fantastic freshman: “A great reason to celebrate: Casen Powell, in her freshman year, secured her 100th draw control tonight. It has been so fun watching her grow as the season has gone on. Quakertown defeated William Tennent 17-2 in Monday’s American Conference game.
Darcy Baxter led Quakertown with three goals, while Brielle Bailey, Paige Maha and Casey Rosenberger posted two-goal, one-assist games.
