Central Bucks West 20, Central Bucks South 2
Olivia Barrett racked up her typical dominating numbers away from the goal cage, securing five draw controls, scooping up three ground balls, and causing one turnover.
But the junior’s two-point effort in the offensive end made today so special, as Barrett reached the 100-point milestone for her career with a goal and an assist in Central Bucks West’s dominating 20-2 win over local rival Central Bucks South.
“Olivia is a real leader on the team and always brings intensity and passion to the game,” said West coach Elena Romesburg. “I am super-proud of her and her milestone!”
Addy Stromberg led West – ranked eighth in this week’s District 1 Class 3A standings – with four goals and two assists.

Souderton 21, Neshaminy 3
Carli Gavetti scored the 150th goal of her high school career and Addie Yost reached the 100-goal
plateau with a four-goal effort as Souderton cruised to a 21-3 victory over Neshaminy in Thursday’s American Conference game.
In addition to the two milestones, Souderton – ranked 21st in the latest District 1 Class 3A standings – got a strong effort from Ella Dower, who scored a pair of goals while also winning five draws and picking up six ground balls. Caroline Kelcy scored four goals and added an assist.

Pennsbury pulled out a thrilling 9-8 victory over National Conference opponent North Penn in Thursday’s Teacher Appreciation Night game. Abby McCole was a defensive force with 10 caused turnovers and also scored the game-winning goal.
Abby Smoyer saved the day in goal, recording 14 saves.

Pennsbury coach Beth Golder: "Tonight was our Teacher Appreciation Night.. Each player invited a special teacher that has impacted them in their journey as a student athlete and recognized them before the game. They stayed and watched a great one between Pennsbury and North Penn. It was a back and forth battle.
--Props: "Senior Annie Cimochowski had 2 goals and 1CT and 2 GB. Senior Sasha Dobos was a huge force all over the field and finished the night with 1 goal and 1 CT. Senior Abby Mccole was a defensive force while also leading all scorers with 3 goals of her own including the game winner, 3 CT and 3 GB. Ryan Burdette and Abby Iacona dominated the draw circle and the defensive unit was incredible tonight and as a team caused 10 CT. Ryan had 1 goal, 1 CT and 4 GB. Iacona finished with 2 goals, 1 CT 7 GB and 2 DC. Senior Goalie Abby Smoyer also had a stellar night with 14 saves. Hard fought win against a good North Penn team. Super proud of the effort!"

American Conference
Plymouth Whitemarsh 12, Cheltenham 1
Plymouth Whitemarsh, which entered the week ranked #5 in the District 1 Class 3A rankings, blanked Cheltenham over the last three-plus quarters and came away with a 12-1 victory in Thursday’s American Conference game.
The Colonials led 2-1 after one quarter but found their offense to the tune of six unanswered goals in the second period to pull away.
Grace Harvey had a hand in nine PW goals, scoring eight and assisting on one.
Marelle Johnston scored Cheltenham’s lone goal, while Megan Robinson made five saves.

Cheltenham coach Emily Towey: “Our team came out super-strong in the first quarter, especially on the defensive end. Our slides and transitions looked great, but offensively, we had a hard time adapting and producing. Today's game was an opportunity to continue to develop and get better. We know exactly what we need to move the team forward, and if everyone can do their part, I know that we'll get there."

Springfield Twp surrendered the first goal of the game, then responded and made it a hard-fought battle throughout. The Spartans, ranked #8 in District 1 Class 2A, pulled out a 9-6 victory over Wissahickon in Thursday’s American Conference matchup.
Ella McLaughlin led the Spartans with four points on two goals and two assists, while Frankie Rizzo scored a hat trick. Stormii Schock-Sprague posted 13 saves in earning the win in the cage.
Samantha Farno led the Trojans – ranked #34 in the latest Class 3A standings – with three goals.

Springfield Twp coach Katrina Metz Borzelleca: “Wissahickon got the first goal of the game but we hustled and fought back. It was a battle back-and-forth from start to finish. Back-to-back games can be a tough setup, but the team played well together once we got going and settled in.
“Great vision and transition helped us move the ball from end to end. We worked great together and found each other on the offensive end. Six of our nine goals were assisted and that is a great attribute to this team. Communication and seeing the field as a team played a big role in our win today.”
—Props: “We got great offensive leadership from two of our senior captains, Frankie Rizzo and Ella McLaughlin. Stormii came up big in the cage for us with 13 saves. The defense continues to gel and play as one unit.”

Abington 16, Quakertown 4
Abington scored six unanswered goals in the first quarter to build an insurmountable lead as the Ghosts – ranked seventh in the latest District 1 Class 3A standings – overpowered Quakertown 16-4 in Thursday’s American Conference matchup.
Katie Pennekamp scored six goals and assisted on two others, while Carly Hughes earned seven draw controls and nabbed 10 ground balls to go along with her four-point day.
Hughes and Charlotte Lowery both reached the 100-point career milestone.

Katie Pennekamp led the offense with 6 goals and 2 assists, while Ein Ely added 2 goals and 3 assists and Carly Hughes contributed 2 goals, 2 assists, and a dominant all-around performance. Abby Ellner and Charlotte Lowery each chipped in a goal and an assist.
“Defensively, the Ghosts were relentless with Carly controlling 7 draws and collecting 10 ground balls and multiple players forcing turnovers. In goal, Cheyenne Fisher made 5 saves to help secure the victory.”

New Hope-Solebury 15, Lower Moreland 8
In Thursday’s battle of the Lions, the two teams battled to a 5-5 tie after one quarter, but then New Hope’s defense kicked in, limiting Lower Moreland to just one goal in the second quarter to go into halftime with an 8-6 lead. Its defense was the story of the second half as the visiting Lions outscored LM 7-2 after the intermission.
Emersyn Thistlewaite’s four-goal effort led New Hope, and she helped her team control play with 11 draw controls.
