Riley McCafferty – with no outs, the bases loaded and the score deadlocked – lined a base hit into center field that plated Addie Pennisi with the dramatic game-winner.
Saturday’s non-league game featured four lead changes, and none bigger than the Redskins’ final comeback that saw them rally from a 9-6 deficit heading into the bottom of the sixth for the walk-off win.
Earlier, the ‘Skins put a run on the board in the third when Kendall McCafferty – who started the rally with a two-out single - scored the game’s first run. Boyertown answered with four in the bottom of the fourth.
Neshaminy made it a 4-3 game in a fourth inning that began with a Maddie Jacoby double, and after a single by Keira Secoda, Ellie Miller doubled both runners home.
The visiting Bears led 5-3 heading into the bottom of the fifth when the Redskins scored three runs to go on top 6-5, benefitting from a pair of errors and two walks. Once again, the Bears answered, going on top 9-6 and setting the stage for the Redskins’ late-game comeback.
Molly Ambrosius earned the win with one-and-a third scoreless innings in relief.
Leading the Redskins’ 12-hit attack were Miller, Riley McCafferty and Jacoby with two hits each.

Key inning: Bottom of seventh – Trailing by one, the Redskins plated a pair for the walk-off win. Ellie Miller and Addie Pennisi hit back-to-back singles to lead off the inning. Both runners advanced one base on a passed ball and a second base on a Boyertown error, which resulted in the tying run crossing the plate. After a fielder’s choice loaded the bases, Riley McCafferty lined a single to center that plated Pennisi with the game-winner.

“It was a back-and-forth game the entire way against a really good team, and I’m proud of how the girls kept responding every time momentum started to shift. We are really proud of the way our girls competed and stayed together to finish it out.”
--Props: “Ellie Miller had a big day at the plate, coming through in key spots with multiple RBIs and helping us keep the offense moving when we needed it most. Maddie Jacoby gave us a huge boost as well with two doubles in big moments, and Keira Secoda did a great job setting the tone—getting on base and putting constant pressure on their defense.
“And, of course, Riley McCafferty came through when it mattered most, driving a line drive into the gap in the bottom of the seventh to bring home the walk-off win.”
