SOL Colonial Division
Central Bucks East 9, Souderton 0
Looking to snap a three-game losing streak, CB East turned to Mason Hill on the mound Thursday for Game 3 of its series with visiting Souderton. Hill, a sophomore, delivered and got plenty of run support in a complete game, three-hit shutout in the Patriots’ 9-0 victory.
Offensively, CB East broke out of it with nine runs on 11 hits, including a five-spot in the third that blew the game wide open.
Key Players: CBE- Mason Hill (7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K), Anthony Niro (HR,2 RBIs), Evan LeMay (2-for-3, 2 RBIs), Christopher Funicello (2-for-3), Dustin Weber (3-for-4,double, 2 runs).
Key Inning: Bottom of the 3rd - Tyler Muszi’s single opened the inning, and Anthony Niro followed with a two-run home run to center field to make it a 5-0 game. Dustin Weber then doubled, Christopher Funicella singled, one run scored on an error, and then Evan LeMay added an RBI single to cap a five-run inning.
CB East coach Kyle Dennis:
“We had a couple setbacks this week, but we pitched really, really well this week. I was looking over some stuff, and Jason Abert took a loss in Game 1, and he allowed one run. Konnor Ware took a loss in Game 2, allowed two runs. So, we’ve pitched really, really well. I think our team ERA right now is under 2.
“We're defending well enough to win, and the bats have been struggling a little bit. And the guys have been working really hard and today came alive, and hopefully that's a sign of things to come.”
–Mason Hill: “He’s a middle infielder, but he's been playing third base for us. He's also kind of been in line to possibly be our third starter. We didn't use him against North Penn, because he came in and got the win and the save in Games 1 and 2. And, he's a young kid, and we want to kind of protect his arm a little bit. We didn’t want to roll him out a third time that week, but today he was phenomenal.
“He's going to mix up all of his pitches. He can throw any pitch in any count. He's able to just be around the zone a lot. Sixty percent strikes - right around sixty - which is a great place to be. And he got nine strikeouts and kept hitters off balance with his mix. He was great. It was great to see him be successful as a starter this year. We knew he could be successful as a reliever, possibly as a closer, but today, to see him start and have the success that he did was really awesome to see.”
Next up: CB East (4-4, 3-3 SOL) opens up a three-game series against Pennridge at home on Monday. Souderton (4-5, 3-3 SOL) has a night game Monday home against CB South.

North Penn 7, Central Bucks South 1
North Penn took Game 3 of the series to even its division record at 3-3, jumping ahead early and riding the pitching of Grayson Fontaine and Jake Nunn on the way to the 7-1 victory over CB South on Thursday night.
Fontaine picked up the win, allowing one run in five innings, while Nunn earned the save with two scoreless in relief.
The Knights scored two in the first inning and never trailed.
Key Players: NP-Mason Franek (2 RBIs), Bud Murphy (2-for-3, 1 RBI), Mason DiLorenzo (2-for-4), Grayson Fontaine (WP, 5 IP, 3 H,1 ER, 3 BB, 8 K), Jake Nunn (Save, 2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K).
Key Inning: Top of the 1st - Danny Cho led off the game with a walk, followed by a Mason DiLorenzo single to put runners on first and second. Bud Murphy drove in one with a one-out single, and Jase Hopwood later delivered a sac fly to make it 2-0.
North Penn coach Kevin Manero:
“This was an important series win after last week, so a lot of credit goes to our guys for finishing the week with a win.
“We got some good contributions from a lot of different parts of the order tonight, which was big. And we’re doing a better job of extending innings.
“We have a lot of green sprouts popping right now on a young roster, but we still have to play better. The heart of the season is here, and we have to play cleaner and better to win over the next few weeks.”
Next up: North Penn (6-4, 3-3 SOL) hosts CB West in the first of three on Monday afternoon. CB South (2-5, 1-5 SOL) has a non-league road game Saturday against Springside-Chestnut Hill, before returning the league play at Souderton Monday night.

Pennridge 9, Central Bucks West 5
After a mercy-rule loss in the first game of the series, Pennridge bounced back in a big way and snared a share of the Colonial Division lead with 9-5 Game 3 win at home against CB West on Thursday afternoon.
The Rams kept the offense in full gear against CB West, scoring in all but one inning and breaking a 4-4 game after the fourth inning.
Key Players: P-Tommy Ginnetti (HR, 1 RBI), Tim Croyle (3-for-4, double, 1 RBI, 3 runs), Noah Keating (2-for-4, double, 1 RBI), Connor Murray (WP, 5 2/3 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 5 BB, 10 K; double, 1 RBI).
Key Inning: Bottom of the 4th - After CB West battled back to tie it at 4, Pennridge scored two and never looked back. Tim Croyle had an RBI single, and TJ McGuigan drove in one with a bases loaded walk.
Pennridge coach Dan Long:
“We did a great job bouncing back to win the series after dropping Game 1. We had a really good offensive showing up and down the lineup today.
“Connor Murray gave us a great start getting deep into the game.”
Next up: Pennridge (6-2, 4-2 SOL) plays at CB East on Monday. CB West (7-2, 4-2 SOL) starts its series with North Penn on the road Monday.

SOL Patriot Division
Pennsbury 8, Council Rock South 7
It’s been a wild week for Pennsbury and Council Rock South, as the Patriot Division rivals played in three one-run games that came down to the very end, including a Game 2 that went 10 innings and had to be decided a day later.
Thursday, Pennsbury capped off the wildness with its second 8-7 win in as many games, with the winning run scoring after a wild pitch and an error.
The Falcons, who are now 11-1 on the season, trailed 5-1 going into the sixth, when they scored five runs to take the lead, only to see CR South counter with two in the top of the seventh, setting the stage for the thrilling bottom of the seventh.
Key Players: P-Owen Hawkes (WP, 4 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K); Carlton Crane (double, 2 runs, 2 BB, 1 SB), Ty Lee (2-for-4), Casey Shannon (pinch-hit single, 2 RBIs), Danny Seider (1 RBI); CRS-Landon White (2-for-4, triple, 4 RBIs), Reed Curtier (2-for-3, double, 2 runs), Caleb Dubas (2-for-4, 1 RBI).
Key Inning: Bottom of the 7th - Trailing 7-6, the Pennsbury rally started with a Ty Lee single. Michael Sogness bunted courtesy runner Liam Wasylak to second, and the tying run scored on an RBI single by Danny Seidler. Will Curtin came in as a pinch-runner, advanced to second and third on a wild pitch, and scored the game-winning run on an error.

–The winning sequence: “Danny Seidler hurt his foot earlier in the game, so we pinch ran for him with Will Curtin. They brought in a new pitcher. First pitch he throws it to the backstop, Will goes from first. Rounding second, the catcher kind of lobbed back to the pitcher, and Will took off for third. The pitcher then threw it away to third, and Will scored on that error. So, he went from first to third to home on a pitch and an error.
“He's a senior, who has barely played the past four games or so and we put him into pinch run, and he just makes a calculated risk there and walked it off.”
–Props: “I'd love to highlight Ty Lee too. I am hammering Ty for throwing the ball away after getting the strikeout in the top of the seventh when we just had a shot to close the game. Then, he comes in and gets the single that sparks the comeback.
“One of the big things I said is figure out a way to make an impact. So, you make an impact on the basepaths, you make an impact on the mound, you make an impact on the field and the dugout. Whatever it is. Ty made an impact today with his bat. Will made an impact base running, Danny Seidler made an impact with his bat, Owen Hawks came in in relief and made an impact. So that's a big one, just learning how to make an impact.”
Next up: Pennsbury (11-1, 5-1 SOL) is back at it Monday on the road at Council Rock North. CR South (4-3, 1-2 SOL) hosts Bensalem Monday in the first of three games against the Owls next week.

Bensalem 5, Harry S Truman 0
Bensalem took the deciding Game 3 in the series, and did it on the mound and at the plate, shutting out visiting Truman by a 5-0 final score.
Cole Hasson went 6 1/3 innings before leaving the game with one out in the seventh and his pitch count at 97. Hayden Sorenson came out of the bullpen for the final two outs. In all, they held the Tigers to just one hit.

Key Inning: Bottom of the 3rd - Already up 1-0, Bensalem added two to extend the lead. Logan Savage led off the inning with a triple and scored on a Tommy Jackson RBI groundout. Danny Bevans later drove in a run with an RBI single to make it 3-0.

“It was good to win the series today. Cole Hasson pitched great today. Joe Dougherty, Logan Savage and Pete Pasquarella supplied our hitting today.”
Next up: Bensalem (2-8, 2-4 SOL) opens its series at Council Rock South on Monday. Truman (2-7, 1-5 SOL) has three against Neshaminy, starting on the road Monday.

Neshaminy 10, Council Rock North 0
A lot of offense and quality pitching go a long way, and for the second straight game, Neshaminy had plenty of both in big wins against Council Rock North, maintaining its share of the lead in the Patriot Division with a 10-0 mercy-rule shortened win on Tuesday.
Neshaminy has scored 62 runs in its six league games thus far, and in its five wins, has outscored opponents 54-1.
Tuesday, Noah Wallace led a 10-hit attack with three hits and three RBIs, while Chase Bonner pitched five shutout innings to pick up the win.
Key Players: N-Chase Bonner (WP, 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K), Noah Wallace (3-for-3, double, 3 RBIs, 2 runs), Matt Gryn (2-for-3, 2 runs).
Key Inning: Bottom of the 3rd - Up 1-0, Neshaminy tacked on three more with three hits and a pair of walks. Mike Sassano had an RBI single and Noah Wallace a two-run single.
Neshaminy coach Dan Toner:
“I was very proud of the team’s effort this entire series. We played three very good games.
“Today, we put together our best game of the three. Hitting was on point in all three games, but today our defense was also on display. We practice certain situations throughout the week and today we executed the proper decision making in each one we faced. Our defense also played error free baseball throughout the series.”
–Props: “Chase Bonner had a fantastic outing today. He dominated the strike zone, while only allowing two hits.
“Offensively, Noah Wallace, Matt Gryn and Mike Sassano had big days for us. Those guys have been locked in to start the season.
“It was awesome to see Mike Sassano get the walk-off, mercy rule hit. Couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the game and the series.”
Next up: Neshaminy (7-3, 5-1 SOL) hosts Harry S Truman on Monday in the first of three. CR North (5-3, 1-2 SOL) hosts Pennsbury in Game 1 of its series Monday.

SOL Freedom Division
Upper Moreland 7, Cheltenham 5
With a Game 3 win, Upper Moreland pulled off the series sweep and improved its league record to 6-0. But make no mistake, the Golden Bears were tested in each of the three games and found a way to keep on winning, including Thursday’s 7-5 victory over Cheltenham on the road.
UM scored seven runs on 10 hits in a game that saw the teams combine for eight errors as well as 15 hits. The Bears led 6-1 after five innings, but had to hold off a hard charge from the Panthers, who scored four times in the last two innings and had the tying run at the plate when UM’s Nick Simons recorded the strikeout to close it out.
Key Players: UM-Chase Rampulla (2-for-4, 1 RBI, 2 runs), Luke Sword (2-for-4), Michael Harter (2-for-4, double), Gavin Shaffert (WP, 5 1/3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K)

Key Inning: Top of the 1st - UM started fast with three quick runs. Chase Rampulla and Chase Moore had back-to-back one-out singles, followed by a two-run single by Lucas Zipper. Luke Sword singled and came around to score on an error to make it 3-0.
UM coach Jim Fasano:
“For the third time this week, another tight game against a good opponent that never stops competing. Also, for the third time this week, we scored runs early only to watch Cheltenham claw back with quality at bats and big hits.
“I’m proud of our guys. Good teams win close games and can withstand the ebbs and flows of competition. Gavin Shaffert was tremendous on the mound today. He’s already committed to PSU Harrisburg as a junior, and the coaches are thrilled to have received that commitment as early as they did. He has a live fastball and when in the zone he is really difficult to hit.
“A quality relief performance from the versatile Chase Moore and Nick Simons got the save by pitching the seventh. ‘Squirrel’ Simons threw on Monday for us and always wants to pitch, which means sometimes I have to tell him ‘no’ multiple times. But today I’m glad he was ready and it’s really nice having him on our side.”
–Props: “Two hits apiece for Chase Rampulla, Luke Sword (Tuesday’s hero) and Mike Harter. A good friend of the program predicted that ‘Ramp’ would lead the league in hitting this year and that’s looking like a solid take.
“Seven starters had a hit, Jackson Townsend and Ramp each scored two runs, again, a total team effort. We have a good squad with great kids, they represent the school, community and their families with class and grace. I, and we as a coaching staff, take the responsibility seriously to continue developing these boys as players and human beings.
“We swept the series, which means they can practice in shorts tomorrow, as much as it pains my soul. But these guys earned it.”
Next up: Upper Moreland (10-0, 6-0 SOL) starts a new week Monday with the first of three against Lower Moreland at home. Cheltenham (5-4, 3-3 SOL) has a week of non-league games, starting at home against Abington on Monday.

Springfield Twp 6, Lower Moreland 1
After a tough opening series with Cheltenham last week, Springfield bounced back in a big way this week, capping a three-game sweep of Lower Moreland to even its league record with a 6-1 victory on the road Thursday.
All week, the Spartans did it with pitching and hitting, outscoring the Lions 25-1 in the three wins.
Gus May was the winning pitcher Thursday, going 4 1/3 innings and allowing just one earned run. Charlie Dyke pitched 2 2/3 scoreless and hitless innings of relief.
Key Players: S-Gus May (WP, 4 1/3 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K), Charlie Dyke (2 2/3 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K), Anderson Kerper (2-for-4, double, 2 RBIs), Matt Skopel (2-for-4, 2 RBIs).
Key Inning: Top of the 1st - Rocco Lugrine was hit by a pitch with one out, stole second and second on a Kerper RBI single. Matt Sokel made it 2-0 with a RBI single of his own.
Springfield coach Rob Bond:
“Today’s game was a good way to finish the week. We are still finding our way at the plate. Anderson Kerper and Matt Sokel each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs a piece. Ryan McGuckin was outstanding at shortstop today and also had an RBI.
“Our pitching was on point today as well. Gus May went four-plus innings with five (strikeouts). Gus did an excellent job. Charlie Dyke came in for the final two-plus innings and pitched really well.
“Tough matchup next week versus New Hope. It should be an exciting three-game series.
Next up: Springfield (4-5, 3-3 SOL) starts a three-games series with New Hope-Solebury at home on Monday. Lower Moreland (2-8, 0-6 SOL) plays at Upper Moreland on Monday.

William Tennent 5, New Hope-Solebury 1
After a week of near misses, William Tennent knocked New Hope from the ranks of the unbeaten with a solid 5-1 home win on Thursday afternoon.
Tennent did it with quality pitching from Zach Chubb, who went the distance, allowing only one run over seven innings, and the Panthers were opportunistic at the plate, scoring five runs over the third through the sixth innings on just two hits.
Key Players: WT - Zach Chubb (WP, 7 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K), Jordan Lawson (double, 1 RBI).
Key Inning: Bottom of the 5th - Up 2-0, Tennent tacked on a pair of insurance runs with two in the fifth. Jordan Lawson had the big hit of the inning with an RBI double and later scored himself on an error.
Tennent coach Lucas Denzi:
“It was great to get the win after a tough start to the season. A ton of credit goes to junior Zach Chubb, who pitched an absolute gem and is emerging as a great arm for us. Sidelined earlier this week due to an injury and forced to watch two close games, he was eager to take the ball today. We couldn’t have asked for a better performance.
“While the offense was quiet for most of the game due to another strong pitching performance from the New Hope staff, we were able to manufacture five runs off just two hits.
“It’s a credit to our guys, who have continued to work hard even through some difficult outcomes. Even with the gap in the schedule next week due to a school trip, we are hoping to carry some momentum into the second half of the season.”
Next up: William Tennent (2-7, 1-5 SOL) is off until a three-game series with Lower Moreland, starting April 27 on the road. New Hope (8-1, 5-1 SOL) has a big series starting Monday at Springfield.

SOL Liberty Division
Wissahickon 18, Abington 4
Earlier in the week, in a pair of losses, Wissahickon allowed nine runs in each game. Thursday, looking to get a game in the series, the Trojans took that out of play with plenty of offense.
With 18 runs on 18 hits, and runs in each inning, Wissahickon picked up a dominant mercy-rule shortened 18-4 win against the visiting Galloping Ghosts.
Starting pitcher Nate Hammond did more than just pick up the win on the mound, he was 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and 3 RBIs.
Key Players: W- Nate Hammond (3-for-5, HR, double, 3 RBIs; WP, 4 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K), Ryan Kim (3-for-3, 3 RBIs), Matt Press (2-for-3, double, 4 runs), Charlie Ajemian (2-for-3, double, 3 RBIs, 3 runs), Giulio Carbo (2-for-3, 3 RBIs, 3 runs), Thomas Puerzer (2-for-4, 2 RBIs).
Key Inning: Top of the 1st - Nate Hammond started fast with a single and Matt Press was then hit by a pitch. Charlie Arjemian picked up an RBI with a bases loaded walk, Ryan Kim then made it 3-0 with a two-run single to left.
Wissahickon coach Andy Noga:
“After a tough couple days, it was good to get things back on track as we head into our next series versus (Hatboro-Horsham). It’s a very competitive league and this series humbled us a little bit.
“We swung it well all series and today the hits were dropping, and the hard barrels were finding areas where Abington wasn’t. Nate Hammond sparked our offense with the single to start the game, then everyone else followed his lead. Getting your first varsity win and first varsity home run in the first two weeks of the league season doesn’t happen too often.
“Abington definitely outplayed us in Games 1 and 2, but it was good for us to show some mental toughness and respond with authority today.”
Next up: Wissahickon (5-4, 3-3 SOL) hosts Hatboro-Horsham in the first of three games on Monday. Abington (3-5, 3-5 SOL) is back in action Saturday for a league game with Upper Dublin.

Quakertown 9, Hatboro-Horsham 5
Quakertown built an 8-0 lead after four innings and then finished it off to pick up the series win, on the road at Hatboro-Horsham 9-5.
The Panthers jumped all over the Hatters in the second to go up 5-0 after a Carter Tucholski, and starting pitcher Lochlan Everitt didn’t allow an earned run in six innings.
H-H rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but that’s where the rally ended, as Quakertown held on for the win.
Key Players: Q-Carter Tucholski (HR, 3 RBIs, 2 runs), CJ Peacher (3-for-4, triple, 1 RBI, 4 runs), Logan Niewoehner (2-for-2, double, 2 RBIs), Brady Martin (2 RBIs); Lochlan Everitt (WP, 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K); H-H-Cole Incudine (2 RBIs).

alk to get things started, followed by a Hankinson single, and then a RBI single by CJ Peacher. Carter Tucholski then hit a two-run home run to left to put Quakertown up 5-0.
Quakertown coach Jon Pallone:
“We played Quakertown baseball today. It was nice to get ahead early and apply pressure.
“Lochlan Everitt did a great job attacking the zone and getting guys out. He put us in a good position to win.
“CJ Peacher and Carter Tucholski stayed hot at the plate. Carter had a solid HR. The ball just comes off his bat different.
“We spent a lot of time planning for (H-H’s) Ken Lutz this week. I love the series schedule - it’s much more like the college game. That kid is good enough that we took a lot of game planning. We weren’t going to let him beat us with his bat. Unfortunately, we walked him six times over three games.
Next up: Quakertown (7-2, 5-1 SOL) hosts Plymouth Whitemarsh on Monday night in the first of a three-game series. Hatboro-Horsham (3-6, 3-3 SOL) plays at Wissahickon for Game 1 of its series on Monday.
