Souderton 13, Central Bucks East 11
Souderton used a fast start and controlled the fourth quarter to scratch out a key win over the Patriots on Thursday.
Aly Hassett was everywhere for the Big Red, winning eight draw controls, collecting nine ground balls and posting a goal and an assist. Marlie Bussom also paced a defensive effort that held CB East to just one goal in the first quarter, adding five caused turnovers and five ground balls, and Ella Dower was a vacuum with seven ground balls in front of Nika Fulginiti.
Carly Gavetti led a balanced Souderton attack, scoring four times and assisting three others as six players found the net.
Paige Dougherty paced East with four goals while Cece Hayes had a five-point night, scoring a goal and helping on four others.

--Props: “This win was a team effort. Defensively, Marlie Bussom and Ella Dower were outstanding. Nika Fulginiti made some really important saves. Aly Hassett came up with crucial draw controls in the fourth quarter.”
--Offense all over: “We had 7 point-scorers on the attacking end, including Carly Gavetti (seven points) and Addie Yost (six points). Every player, both on and off the field, had an important role in making sure we left the field with a win. Very proud of these girls.”
Central Bucks East coach Kelly Tait:
“It took us a while to settle in today, and we got ourselves into a 6-0 hole in the first quarter. We couldn’t seem to come up with any of the draws in the first quarter, and Souderton’s attack capitalized. I think back-to-back games in this heat and getting used to Souderton’s field, which is really short and narrow, threw us off of our game today and we had moments where we seemed to struggle with the fundamentals.
“By the second quarter, we started to settle in, coming up with more draws, locking off on defense and finding the back of the net on attack. Through sheer grit and determination, the girls fought their way out of the hole, winning both the second and third quarters and entering the fourth quarter one goal ahead, 10-9. Unfortunately, we couldn’t carry that through in the fourth, but I was super proud of their efforts.”
Up next: Central Bucks East will host Central Bucks West on Monday, and Souderton will travel to Harriton for a non-league game Friday.

North Penn 10, Central Bucks South 7
The Knights were good on the draw Thursday, which usually leads to good things on the scoreboard.
North Penn won 15 draw controls, paced by eight from Maddie Gorman but also getting plenty of help from Mila Rogozinski (two) and Joelle Davenport (three) for the bulk of the wins. From there, it was all about sharing the ball as the Knights tagged a helper on eight of their 10 goals, keeping the ball moving to set up better shots.

“Eight of our goals came from assists, and this was great to see as we have been working every day on feeding and being intentional with our passes and keeping our eyes focused toward the (eight-meter).”
--Defense steps up: “Low defense had a lot of success on transitions today, especially with trails and switches. Emily Kralik, Erin Walsh, Alana Tomkowicz, and Morgan Rodoff, played with poise and grit all game and were instrumental in our transitions, working the ball out of the back with confidence and speed.”
--Props: “It was a total team effort today as all 19 field players saw time today in a fiercely contested league game.”
CB South coach Janique Craig:
"(We) dropped a hard-fought contest to North Penn in a game that tested both teams from start to finish. North Penn came out strong, building a 9–3 lead by halftime and extending it to 10–3 heading into the final quarter. The Knights controlled the draw for much of the game and capitalized on extra possessions, which played a key role in the outcome."
--Finishing strong: "Despite the deficit, CB South showed resilience and grit in the fourth quarter, shutting out North Penn 4–0 while playing down two players. The Titans locked in defensively and finished with some of their strongest play of the game, led by Jordyn McCartin and Taylor Aldrich anchoring the defensive unit.
"With key players on both teams out in the fourth quarter, both teams were forced to adjust throughout the game, adding to the challenge on both sides.
"McDonald led the team with four ground balls, while Ryann Vandersluis, Taylor Aldrich, and Kaylee Vandersluis each collected three. Elysia Fessler added three draw controls, and goalkeeper Elia Kafel made five saves.
"(We) will look to build on its strong fourth-quarter performance moving forward and play a full game."

Central Bucks West 20, Neshaminy 1
It was a milestone night for the Bucks in Thursday’s win.
Junior Kamryn Brownlow and sophomore Ainsley Shissler both tallied their 100th career points while each netting a hat trick - along with Addy Stromberg - to pace a well-balanced CB West attack. The Bucks defense was also active, causing plenty of turnovers and ground balls.

Bridget DiMartile had another big afternoon as the Cardinals remained unbeaten atop the SOL American table.
The Michigan commit junior had five goals and added seven draw controls while Maeve Hogan added a hat trick, and Ava Shohen had five points on the offensive end and three caused turnovers while defending.

Offense was plentiful as the Spartans battled the Lions and the heat Thursday afternoon in a goal-fest.

--Collective efforts: “We did a lot of good things – working together through transition and also as an offense. Our hustle and determination showed out there on the field. Connecting with teammates and having lots of players with opportunities to score. It was a tough one in the heat but we got it done and I’m proud of their effort and play as a team.”

Plymouth Whitemarsh 17, Quakertown 3
The Colonials posted a first-half shutout and controlled play behind a balanced effort in Thursday’s win.
Riley Martin set the pace on the draw, giving her team plenty of chances to control the ball. Maite Jayo tallied seven total points while Grace Harvey put away four goals for PW, which also got multiple goal games from Rachel Craft, Jackie Spinelli and Ellie Coyle.

A high-scoring first half turned into more of a defensive duel after halftime as the Lions used a big second quarter to take command at the break.
Mia Rosala and Haylee Huber were both extremely productive, scoring six goals each for Lower Moreland.
Laney DelRossi paced the Panthers with four goals.

The second quarter the battle continued going back and forth, LM put up eight in the second to William Tennent’s three. At halftime the score was 14-6. The third quarter was a good defensive bout, LM converted three more tallies. In the fourth William Tennent put up one to LM’s five.”

“Our team put together a really strong performance today, and what stood out most was how well the girls are starting to come together and truly play as a unit. Over the past few days, we’ve seen a big shift in how they’re seeing the field, making smart cuts to get open, and connecting on those quick passes that lead to quality scoring opportunities. It’s been great to watch that growth translate into game play.”
--Growth on defense: “Defensively, the team was outstanding. The pressure on the ball was relentless, and it led to a number of key turnovers that gave us extra possessions and momentum throughout the game. That effort on the defensive end made a huge impact.
“In goal, Marissa had a phenomenal performance with 12 saves. For this being her first year in net, she continues to improve every game. Her focus, ability to track the ball, and confidence in stepping up made a big difference for us today.”
--Team growth: “Despite the challenging heat, the girls pushed through and never let it affect their effort. Their ability to keep working, especially in transition, showed a lot about their mindset and determination.
Overall, I’m incredibly proud of how this team is developing. They’re trusting each other more, making the extra pass, and playing unselfishly. The growth over the last few games has been exciting to watch, and today was a great example of what they can do when they play together.”
