Senior midfielder Natalie Berndt started the game needing 2 points to hit the milestone number of 100 career points. She very quickly found the back of the net scoring the first 2 goals of the game and securing the 100 point accomplishment. The very next goal was scored by Paige Dougherty who, with that goal, hit the 200 career points milestone. Adding to the point accumulation was Cece Hayes who recorded 6 points in today’s game pushing her total career point number to 130. Those three players work so hard in the midfield for us and work really well together, so it was great to celebrate all of them today.
Draw controls today were key and we really weren’t getting many of them at the beginning of the game, but Paige Dougherty was able to make adjustments to figure out what was working and what wasn’t. Once she figured it out she was able to direct the ball to Cece or Natalie and we were able to start coming up with the majority of the draws.
Defensively we had 9 different players come up with caused turnovers. Our defensive unit of Bella DeHaven, Kayla Matlack, Ella Menard and Madison Beck did a great job of pressuring the ball, coming up with turnovers and getting the ball back up field to our attackers.
The attack, lead by McKenna Lynch (4G), worked hard to find the open spaces, hit open cutters and place their shots. They also did a great job keeping their composure and keeping possession of the ball when we trying to slow things down and work the ball around.

This truly was a full team effort. Every single player on the field ended up with stats recorded next to their names in the stat book. It was fun to watch them have individual successes that all came together create a team victory.
