Central Bucks West 16, Souderton 5
There was plenty to celebrate on this day.
Senior Katie Casale registered her 100th career point and junior mid Olivia Barrett recorded her 200th career draw control. Add a dominant win, and Thursday’s 16-5 win over Souderton made for a very memorable performance for Central Bucks West.
“It was awesome to celebrate both tonight,” said Central Bucks West coach Elena Romesburg. “Katie has been an impact player on offense since her freshman year and Olivia has continued to grow her confidence on the draw through her career.”
Barrett added three goals and two assists, and Ainsley Shissler scored four goals for the Bucks.
Aly Hassett has nine groundballs and six draw controls, while Carly Gavetti scored two goals and added two assists.

West coach Elena Romesburg: “I’m super-proud of sophomore Jill Veverka, who stepped up and started for Marleigh Mallon, who missed tonight’s game. She handled herself with great poise and ended the night with one groundball and one caused turnover.
“Sophomore Addy Stromberg had a solid day in the midfield, causing havoc on defense and impacting the fast break transition, creating a lot of shot opportunities.
“Kendra Pitts had a stellar night in cage notching 9 saves.”
—On the opposition: “Big shout out to Souderton. I coach a lot of their players in club, and they are a tough, scrappy team. Nika Fulginiti had a great game in goal for them.”

North Penn 18, Neshaminy 3
Brooke Goewey and Maddie Gorman both put on stellar performances to help lift North Penn to an 18-3 victory over Neshaminy in Thursday’s National Conference game.
Gorman was dominant on draw controls, winning 14 in the circle, while adding five goals and an assist. Goewey moved up to attack from her usual defensive slot and responded by scoring three goals and adding two assists.

North Penn coach Ken Rodoff: “Maddie Gorman owned the center circle today and not only led the team with five goals, she helped the entire attack play with focus, purpose and speed.
“Brooke Goewey, who has been low defense until today, demonstrated how versatile she is by playing low attack today and notching five points. She is patient, sneaky, and is able to anticipate when and how to get open or set up her teammates to get open.
—More props: “Caitlin Schalcosky worked tireless on the redefend today, a low attacker who hustled to disrupt passing lanes in Neshaminy’s transition.
“Joelle Davenport converted both 8m shots with power and precision.
“Morgan Rodoff, another low defender, started on attack today and contributed two assists.”

American Conference
Abington 17, Lower Moreland 1
Abington dominated from the opening draw and rolled to a 17-1 win over Lower Moreland in Thursday’s American Conference game.
The Ghosts shut out the Lions in the first half while they netted seven in the first quarter and led 11-0 at halftime.
Nine different players contributed points to the Ghost attack, while goalie Cheyenne Fisher made 4 saves.

“Defensively, the team was strong throughout, with multiple caused turnovers and ground balls from players including Chelsey Higgins, Keely Gallaher, and Emily Edwards. Draw controls from Hughes and Pennekamp helped secure possession and maintain momentum.”

Cheltenham 9, Hatboro-Horsham 4
Cheltenham goalkeeper Meg Robinson recorded her 200th career save as part of an 11-save effort as Cheltenham got back in the win column with a 9-4 victory over Hatboro-Horsham in Thursday’s American Conference matchup.
Brianna Gardner led the offense with four goals.
Izzy Bellano had five draw controls and Allison Neumann had three draw controls and four ground balls for the Hatters, who saw five players each score one goal.

Brianna Gardner came up big for us again and Morgan Gregorio and Marelle Johnston worked great offensively. Our goalie, Meg Robinson, had her 200th save today with a total of 11 saves and a 73% save percentage."
Hatboro-Horsham coach Lauren Holliday: “We didn’t get the win today, but the girls showed nothing but heart, intensity, and determination from start to finish. The coaches are very proud of the fight they brought every minute. Huge shoutout to our goalie Olivia Figueroa with 10 saves holding it down, and our midfield for battling hard on the circle all game long.”

Plymouth Whitemarsh 16, Upper Moreland 2
Plymouth Whitemarsh scored seven unanswered goals in the second quarter to pull away from Upper Moreland in Thursday’s 16-2 American Conference victory.
Grace Harvey (6 goals, 1 assist) and Maite Jayo (4 goals, 3 assists) each scored seven points to lead the Colonials.
Kiera Hess and Madeline Cox each scored once for Upper Moreland.

Plymouth Whitemarsh coach Ellen Reilly: “We started out a little slow, but once they got their footing, they were pretty consistent on the draw and possessed the ball offensively. Creating opportunities for the offense was our defense who created a lot of turnovers, which led to good transition.”

Upper Dublin 18, Quakertown 7
Upper Dublin broke open Thursday’s game in the second quarter, exploding for 10 goals to pull away and roll to an 18-7 win over American Conference opponent Quakertown.
Bridget DiMartile recorded 10 draw controls and also poured in eight points on six goals and two assists. Maeve Hogan led all scorers with seven goals.
Casey Rosenberger had a hand in five of the Panthers’ seven goals, scoring two and assisting on three others.

Upper Dublin coach Dee Cross: “Quakertown came out with a lot of energy and put us on our heels right away. We were able to settle down and lead by one goal at the end of the quarter. A 10-goal second quarter was the key to taking control of the game. We started to have success on the draw to gain possession and momentum. Quakertown continued to challenge all over the field and always plays until the final whistle.”

The Trojans trailed by one after one quarter but used an 8-3 second quarter burst to take control of the game on their way to a win over the Lions in conference action Thursday.
For the Lions, Hailey Castellano’s five-point game led the way.
