UPPER DUBLIN 5, ABINGTON 0
Upper Dublin is heading into spring break on a decidedly high note.
Twenty-four hours after a glittering three-hit shutout performance by Luke Caron, Chase Greiner and Noah Watson combined for a one-hit shutout. Greiner earned the win with six shutout innings, allowing one hit while striking out seven and walking three. Watson closed it out with a scoreless seventh.
The Cardinals scored all the runs they would need in a two-run second but added three runs in a third inning highlighted by RBI doubles by Matthew Logerstedt and Gavin Litten as well as an RBI single by Watson.
By the numbers: Upper Dublin: Gavin Litten (2-for-3, 2B, 1RBI, 1R), Mike Caron (2-for-3, 2B, 1RBI.

Key inning: Bottom of second – Gavin Litten singled to lead off the inning, and two outs later, Mike Caron lined a one-out double to center that plated a run. Anthony Hammill was hit by a pitch, and that was followed by an RBI single by Braeden Skahan, putting the Cardinals on top 2-0.
Upper Dublin coach Ed Wall:
“Back-to-back shutouts versus good teams is a great way to go into spring break.
“The bats came alive throughout the lineup, allowing Chase to pitch aggressively. The defense played well - (Eddie) Stoffel with a plus play in the four hole, and our outfielders were busy today recording seven outs themselves.”
Up next: Upper Dublin will return to action on Tuesday when the Cards will host Wissahickon, Abington will begin its three-game series against Quakertown with a home game Tuesday.

SOL crossover non-league
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 6, NESHAMINY 2
Jacob Greer and Jack Hoganauer combined for the win on the mound in a non-league crossover game the Bucks led wire to wire.
The Bucks got on the scoreboard with a pair of runs in the top of the second. Highlights of the 
inning included a doubled by Stephen Verdolini as well as RBI singles by Kellen O’Connor and Kenneth McGinnis. They scored the game-winner in the top of the third and went on to open up a 6-0 lead before the Redskins scored a pair of runs late.

Key inning: Top of third – Jack Hogenauer tripled to center field to lead off the inning, and one out later, Christopher Katsikis grounded an RBI single to right field, giving the Bucks a 3-0 lead.

“Jacob Greer and Jack Hogenauer pitched well on the mound and deserve recognition. As well as Chris Katstikis at the plate coming up big with two-strike hitting and runners in scoring position. Great team win.”

NORTH PENN 4, CONESTOGA 3
The Knights displayed a flare for the dramatic in Wednesday’s non-league contest, staging a two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh to score three runs and earn the walk-off win. Wil Rittenhouse – with the bases loaded and two outs – grounded a single to left that plated the 
dramatic game-winner. It was Rittenhouse’s third hit in as many trips to the plate.
Isaac Whaley earned the win with four strong innings on the mound.

Key inning: Bottom of seventh - Down to their final out and trailing 3-1, Logan Waynick gave the Knights life when he lined a two-out single to left, and then it was Christian Barnes grounding a double to left.
With North Penn runners on second and third, Grayson Fontaine was given an intentional walk to load the bases. Bud Murphy’s line single to center plated the tying run, setting the stage for Rittenhouse’s heroics.
North Penn coach Kevin Manero:
“The opening season non-conference games don’t impact our district standing, but they are 
important. We’ve seen some good, some bad, some ugly over these first four games, but it’s all making us better and helping us know who we are.
“Today we saw a sophomore pitcher in Isaac Whaley throw up four zeroes to give us a fighting chance in the late innings. And we showed some real toughness with a bases empty two-out rally in the seventh.
“Wil Rittenhouse had a great day at the plate, less thinking and more swinging- and it paid off big time for him in the seventh.
“Barnes, Fontaine, and Murphy are really forming a tough middle of the order around which we have a lot of options.
“Most importantly, it was our cleanest of games here in the opening act for the season. And that’s what we want- cleaner better baseball each day we take the field.”

PENNSBURY 9, WILLIAM PENN CHARTER 5
Ten Falcon players contributed hits in Wednesday’s non-league win, the team’s sixth in as many games. They led 3-0 after two innings and a four-run fourth all but sealed Penn Charter’s fate.
Keller Bradley retired all nine batters he faced in a dominant three-inning stint to earn the win.

Key inning: Top of the fourth – A four-run fourth was highlighted by RBI singles by Brendan Zuckerman and Michael Sogness as well as a sacrifice fly by Danny Seidler. The fourth run scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Henry Garlits. The Falcons also benefitted from a pair of hit batters and a walk in the inning.
Pennsbury coach Joe Pesci:
“Another big offensive output throughout the lineup and substitutes with 13 hits. Several of which came with guys in scoring position. Pierce Perry is now hitting .800 after another 2-for-2 day. Carlton Crane and Mike Sogness both had two hits on the day as well.
Keller Bradley was great throwing three innings with 0R 0H 0BB and 5K for the win. Five pitchers gave up only two earned runs today and struck out 12.
“Getting 24 guys in a non-league game and beating a team like Penn Charter feels really good. It's been a positive start to the season to get every player on the roster 1-2 at bats per game and innings at different positions in the field or on the mound. It will certainly help us as we head into the heart of our league series.”

CAESAR RODNEY (DE) 5, QUAKERTOWN 1
The Panthers never could find their offense in Tuesday’s non-league game against a Caesar Rodney squad from Delaware. They managed just four hits and found themselves on the short end of a 5-0 score heading into the bottom of the fourth.
Brady Martin’s 2-for-3 effort with a double led the Panthers.
Up next: Quakertown will travel to Abington next Tuesday for game one of its three-game series against the Ghosts.
