The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Carly Franklin – who singled – scored on a Panther miscue. A three-run fifth gave the Patriots a 4-0 lead before the Panthers got on the board with a run in the seventh.
Sydney Hahn earned the win in the circle and also drove in a pair of runs.

Key inning: Bottom of fifth – Ashlyn Helmstetter led off the three-run inning with a single, and Kelsey Monroe drew a walk. Hailey Helmstetter followed with an RBI single. With two outs, Sydney Hahn hit a two-run double to center field, giving the Patriots a 4-0 lead.

“Another good game by both teams. Each team made you work for runs. We were lucky enough to put a few clutch hits together to push our runs across.”
--Props: “Hailey Helmstetter and Carly Franklin led the way with each getting two hits. Sydney Hahn had a big double in fifth to knock in two runs. The pitching was really impressive, Hahn went five, giving up three hits while Ashlyn Helmstetter came in for the last two innings to close the game out.”
Up next: Central Bucks East will host Souderton next Tuesday, and Quakertown will be on the road at Upper Dublin next Tuesday.

The Hatters found themselves on the short end of a 5-0 score after one inning. They responded with three runs in a second inning highlighted by Cara Neeld’s two-run double and an RBI single by Daniella Frank. The Hatters took a lead they would not lose with a five-run third inning.
Kennedy Conn threw four scoreless innings to earn the win. Cara Neeld and Molly Harrington led the Hatters’ offensive charge with three hits each.

Key inning: Top of third – The Hatters turned a 5-3 deficit into an 8-5 lead with a five-run third inning. Isabella Karpovich led off the inning with a single and scored when Kennedy Conn followed with a double. Molly Harrington’s triple to right field plated a run, and Cara Neeld’s RBI double scored Harrington with the go-ahead run. Daniella Frank followed with an RBI single, and the fifth run of the inning scored on an error.

Alexis Griffin scattered five hits and did not allow an earned run in the complete game win. Maddie Motley provided the offensive punch with a double, home run and two RBIs.

Key inning: Bottom of third – Erin Ruddell led off the inning with a line drive single to center field. One out later, Maddie Motley ripped a two-run home run to left field, giving the Titans a 2-0 lead they would not lose.

“We had a hard time stringing hits together this week but Ruddell and Motley are very consistent, and Motley helped get us on top with a nice home run early in the game.
“Alexis is effective and keeping us in each game - all you can ask for. This is a great group of athletes that know they can rely on each other.”

PENNSBURY 12, CONWELL-EGAN 2 (5 innings)
The Falcons trailed 2-0 after one inning but evened the score in the second and then took a lead they did not lose in the third. They brought an early end to the game with a seven-run fifth inning.
Liv Czerniak hit a double and triple out of the leadoff spot, and Jaylynn Rodweller hit a pair of home runs with three RBIs.
Paige Fidishun earned the win, allowing two hits and one earned run in the abbreviated contest.

The Golden Hawks wrapped up their spring break Myrtle Beach trip with a loss to a strong Ashland team from Kentucky.

Council Rock South coach Scott Molle:
“We started out strong, taking a 2-0 lead into the third inning. We were down 4-2 in the sixth, and then Ashland powered two balls for home runs. Overall, we had a great trip and played top quality teams, and the coaching staff is super proud of the way the girls played on our first spring training trip.
“In all three games, all 17 players contributed in some way to help us succeed, and we are looking forward to coming home and getting back to playing locally. We believe this trip has helped the team in so many ways, and we know we have a great group of players that are going to leave it all on the field representing CR South softball.”

Golden Hawks Battle Through Extras in Myrtle Beach Debut
An Interview-Style Recap with Head Coach Scott Molle

Q: Coach, take us through your first day of spring training down in Myrtle Beach.
Molle: It was a great experience for the team. We played two games yesterday—our first action ever on this spring trip—and I thought the girls really showed up ready to compete. The first game was a scrimmage, and we played very well overall.
Q: Any standout performances in that first game?
Molle: Freshman Sage Blankenship got the start in the circle and really impressed us. She showed she’s going to be a competitor and someone we can rely on when her number is called. She also helped herself at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI. That’s a great way to start your varsity career.
Sophomore Mia Musto also had a big moment—she ripped a line drive double to the fence and picked up an RBI. It was special because both Sage and Mia recorded their first varsity hits. That’s something they’ll always remember.
Q: The second game sounded like a battle. What stood out to you?
Molle: We played a really strong team from Ohio, Jackson High School, and it was a fight from start to finish. We went into extra innings and ended up winning in the 9th with the international tiebreaker. Honestly, it was our best game of the season so far. Every single player contributed in some way, and we never gave up.
Q: Natalie Neubauer went the distance—what did you see from her?
Molle: Nat was outstanding. She threw a complete game—133 pitches, with 100 for strikes. That tells you everything about her control and toughness. There were multiple at-bats where hitters battled her with long foul-ball sequences, but she stayed composed and worked through it every time. She’s a warrior in the circle and continues to grow each game. We’re really excited about her progression at the varsity level.
Q: Offensively, who helped lead the charge?
Molle: We had some great performances up and down the lineup. Paige Brady, Molly Gabriele, and Jenna Pesapane each had two hits in key moments. Paige played a tremendous all-around game—she battled at the plate and was solid defensively. She’s a hard worker and off to a great start this season.
Molly continues to be a catalyst for us. She went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Whether it’s at the plate or in center field, she just does everything we ask and sets the tone.
Jenna had a huge hit for us—she went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and two RBIs. Her double in the 5th inning, when we were down 2-1, gave us a 3-2 lead. It was great to see her take an outside pitch and drive it down the right field line. That’s something we’ve been working on.
Q: The execution in the 9th inning was key. Can you walk us through that?
Molle: Absolutely. In ITB, Sam Graff started on second base. Mickey DeYoung came up and laid down a perfect bunt to move Sam to third—and then beat it out herself. That was huge. Then Margot McLean stepped in, worked the count to 3-1, and executed a perfect squeeze bunt. Sam got a great jump and scored the go-ahead run.
Those two at-bats really define our approach—we stress doing the little things and playing team softball. Mickey and Margot executed exactly what we needed in that moment.
Q: How about defensively?
Molle: Our defense was outstanding. We made plays all over the field and didn’t commit a single error. That’s something this team takes pride in—playing clean, disciplined defense and giving maximum effort every play.
Q: What’s the biggest takeaway from Day 1?
Molle: Just really proud of the effort and the fight. It’s early in the season, and for us to come down here, compete the way we did, and execute in big moments—it says a lot about this group. We’re continuing to grow, and this was a big step forward for us.
