We made a deliberate effort to focus on the fundamentals today, playing with both purpose and patience. Even at times when momentum shifted, the girls never got flustered; they stayed poised, trusted each other, and stuck to the game plan. It was a complete team effort.
It did take us a little while to settle in and get going today, but by the 2nd quarter the attack started finding openings in Wissahickon’s zone, hitting open cutters and getting quick shots off. Our defense was able to make adjustments after the first quarter and as a result kept Wiss to only 3 additional goals. Lora Collins continued to impress with 10 saves.
