Strengths/Question Marks: “In 2026, we return a lot of experience, both at the plate and in the field. A year ago, we were maybe a little bit younger than we expected, but throughout the offseason and into the spring there is a sense that this group is ready to take a step forward with more confidence. We believe that we have a lineup that has strengths from top to bottom with a lot of interchangeable parts and depth that should give us options to choose from on a day-to-day basis.
“On the mound, we return two starting pitchers and a few relievers from a year ago. We hope that this enables our pitching staff to withstand the challenges of the three-game series format each week.
“Entering this season, more than most, we are pretty sure of who we are and don’t necessarily have a lot of questions remaining. But, as always, we will need to see how deep we can be on the mound and how we can effectively balance a larger than normal group of two-way pitcher/position players to keep our best bats in the lineup together as much as possible.”
Outlook: “The SOL Liberty Division is a gauntlet. There is a lot of exciting young pitching and the programs in our division are very well-coached. We learned last season that each week brings with it a playoff atmosphere. It’s fun. To that end, our expectation is to compete for the top spot, return to the district playoffs for an eighth straight season, and get into the state tournament for the fourth time in six seasons. Getting there can only happen if our players pull in the same direction from the start. Our expectation is that this group is committed to doing that.
“Returning starters like Mason Eagland, Brody Stump, Bobby Pasquarello, Dan Molony, Dominic Crisculo, Max Eagland, and Lucas Fresta… along with returning multi-sport all-league athletes like Cole Reilly and Michael Bongard have set a high bar for themselves and take a ton of pride in their work ethic. Players who gained valuable varsity experience last year like Spencer Rosen, Nate Quirus, Joey Monastero, and Jackson Starace anchor a group of returning seniors who now know what the Suburban One League level of play is like. It is a fun team to coach and a group that has set a high bar for themselves.”
